It’s pretty crazy you know? Last year around this time, I was freaking out about corona saying “we are all screwed. There’s going to be no vaccine!” Now one year later, I received my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine last Wednesday and will get the 2nd dose on the 24th.

Some good news

The reproduction rate has fallen below 1 in Arkansas and Missouri, and is on the cusp of falling below 1 in Louisiana.

We’re about to see a decline in cases there

On the other hand, R(t) is increasing in the Midwest and northeast.

I expect South Dakota to explode in COVID cases due to the motorcycle rally.

I saw some recent projections saying it would level off right about now. "TheLawyerCraig" on Twitter might have posted some.

Robert Redfield is saying it’s very likely another variant, more dangerous than Delta, is coming this fall.

It may, it may not.
I will say though, having only some of the population vaccinated while the virus spreads across via the unvaccinated is the right condition for a vaccine resistant variant to emerge.
