What's going on with North Carolina.  Out of all the close states they've been the slowest.  Literally no progress in days it seems.  I doubt Biden wins it but there are a lot of deeply blue counties that have votes outstanding.

If I remember correctly, they’re allowing ballots to be received up until the 12th and will count after then.

Yeah I think ur right, I do recall that too actually.

So we’re in the “certification phase” now. Here are the dates to be aware of for key states

Arizona: Needs to “certify” by no later than November 23rd. AZ Sec of State (Dem) than officially verified on November 30th.

Pennsylvania: Needs to have unofficial results by today. Trump has 5 days to petition a recount. Results need to be certified by November 24th.

Michigan: Due by November 23rd

Georgia: Normally due by November 20th but can be adjusted if a recount is needed (which it is). So after the recount

Wisconsin: Has until December 1st but I believe the deadline for a recount is before then.

The path he lays out is trump winning AZ and GA and then either WI or PA flips due to an audit or a recount. He admits each of these steps is a slim chance. So that's slim x slim x slim. But it's not over there's a chance! 🙄

Democrats went from holding 87 of the 100 largest counties to 91 of the 100 largest. We are getting there. Who knows we may be at 96/100 come 2024 unless that bipolar county with two names pulls something.

Which are the ones we're not winning yet?

Looking at you, Jim Wells County!

My favorite two-name county has to be Deaf Smith County.

Inappropriate and very non-PC, GM.

*Very* rude.  The most rude.

It's named after partially deaf soldier, but the pronunciation is "Deef" which is how he pronounced his nickname.
Erastus Smith destroyed Vince's Bridge which cut off the retreat of Santa Anna after the battle of San Jacinto during the Revolution. The county is generally pronounced Deff rather than Deef.

I was at the county museum in Hereford, and there was a woman helping translate documents from Italian. There had been a POW camp there in WWII housing Italian prisoners. She was dressed in a stylish way that I would associate with French or Italian women (maybe a dress, rather than skirt or slacks and a blouse). I asked how she ended up in Hereford. She kind of googly eyed and said that she had met a boy from Hereford who was with the Navy (6th Fleet HQ is in Naples).

Probably 2% chance of occurring. Hell will freeze over before the cards line up for it to happen....

Do we know how many ballots they have received thus far? How many do they expect to receive before Thursday? I don't expect Biden (or Cunningham) to win, but it seems strange that the state has not been called yet.

Oh look, it’s East River vs West River in South Dakota! Any South Dakota posters know why East River swung towards Trump, while West River swung towards Biden?

Hasn't this been happening in the primaries (at least for the Dems) as well, where east and west vote differently?

I know it happened in 2016 on the Dem side. West River went to Sanders and East River went to Clinton.

Buffoonish lawsuit. Every voter had access to both voting methods, and the VBM procedures were anything but lax in their requirements to qualify to cast a ballot. Another one that will be thrown out.

More of the same. Republicans are throwing everything they have at blocking results, courts aren't playing their game, Dems here are whining about doomers, and Arizona's keeping everyone on edge by dumping votes that increase Biden's lead followed by dumps that shrink it.

Plus, if there were an equal protections issue, the remedy would be to count all ballots that were rejected using the more lax standards. So Trump wants more provisionals counted?

This is true. Hillary Clinton seems to have some bizzare, unreplicable appeal in East River South Dakota. She did quite well in both primaries despite doing poorly in similar states and it trended much less against her in the general than North Dakota, Iowa, and rural Minnesota.

Seriously, i can't figure that one out.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota (Minnehaha County) might well have flipped with these numbers (Possibly) and the Country swung hard DEM.

Needless to say not all small Rurals both East & West tell the full story...

We gotta look at where the people actually live in the Counties and not just some random swing arrows, but still Biden naturally did pretty well compared to HRC in many parts of Western MT as Well.

Rural Eastern SD is a bit surprising, considering how well DEM PRES candidates have traditionally performed there since 1988.

Some of the random stuff in Western SD might be explained by Native Americans who weren't too crazy about HRC after the 1st Native Revolts against Keystone Pipeline activities.

Still overall trends appear to go against the grain considering Anglos in Western Dakotas tend to be a bit more Racist against Native Land Rights than those in the Western Dakotas... (Sturgis / COVID-19 / Dead Cat Bounce ?)

1) Why is Arizona being so slow to count?

2) Why hasn't Arizona been called?

Arizona isn't necessarily being *slow* (it is, tho...).  The state has an extremely meticulous signature verification process.  Every signature must be matched against the signature provided when one registered.  If the signatures don't match (and I'm not certain how exact the match must be), then the elections office attempts to get in touch with the voter.

Today, Biden could pass the 10 million vote mark in California. It seems likely.

I know it's not what you asked about, but, like, it's just so fitting to see Aberdeen, SD, swing to Biden.

Good grief.
And the person who wins the popular vote should become President but you don't change the rules while in the middle of play.
Under Texas statute a write-in vote for the vice presidential candidate is the same as a write-in for the presidential candidate. You are actually voting for electors who will have two votes.

Cook appears to have the most up to date vote counter, Biden closing in on 5M popular vote lead

Joe Biden 76,549,571 (50.7%)
Donald Trump 71,736,694 (47.5%)

This is also with lots of CA still out, lots of NY still out, and it appears sizeable chunks in places like IL too

Exactly. Every vote had the same access. Should be denied outright by any semi-competent judge.
