Just a friendly reminder to Queer Americans that regardless of your politics, it's time to arm ourselves. Fight back on all fronts, including the court of public opinion obviously, but there's a very real reason why violence against our community, and specifically Trans people, has been on the rise and sadly I don't think it's going to get much better anytime soon. I know that's not what a lot of liberals on this site want to hear, but it's what's necessary at the present moment.

I agree with the "arm ourselves" part but I don't think one should do it just because of attacks on trans people. The right is also attacking other LGB+ Americans as well.

Of course it's not only trans people; they're just the most visible and easily targeted minority being vilified right now but ultimately the anti-trans agenda these stochastic terrorists are pushing is meant to rollback societal acceptance and rights for all queer folks. When a gay bar  is shot up or a pride event is assaulted cause some right-wing nut job hears this rhetoric and takes action it's unlikely to be only trans people who are killed, obviously.

This article is a great inside look into the rising number of lgbt+ folks who are choosing to arm themselves for community self defense and by all accounts its a take and a feeling that's spreading quickly in the circles I frequent.

Transgenderism is not even a real thing because gender itself is made up nonsense.
The bigger problem isnt people thinking gender has any meaning, it is that people confuse sex and gender and think people "identifying" as some gender has anything to do with their sex. There is no need for you to go to a specific bathroom due to how you "identify", bathrooms are separated based on sex / biological differences just the same as sports. You know society is just a parody when it allows a man to compete with women just because he is a feminine man who wants to pretend that somehow changes his sex.

Certainly, the concept of "transgenderism" should be eradicated. That, however has nothing to do with genocide or actually harming anyone. When you use hyperbole to present an argument or ridicule a position you are just wasting time as you are arguing against a position that does not even exist.

I do not expect society to ever change for the better, but that doesnt mean I am going to go along with the circus show either.

If you're upset that the issues you like to talk about don't get enough attention, well... tough noogies, I guess? The issues that people want to talk about will get talked about.

If you're truly upset with the amount of discussion that the issues get, then tell your party members and leaders to stop attacking trans people. Trust me, we're very tired of having to defend ourselves and/or our friends and family!
