are you god damn kidding me? he hyped it up like most of NV ballots would be counted today. and honestly there is no excuse why all of them have not been counted since Tuesday night/early Wednesday

Ralston's really made an ass of himself this cycle. He's just another "BIG IF TRUE"/muh horserace/"one thing's for sure: it's too close to call Smiley" pundit now.

America is like a third world country in terms of counting ballots. In Spain we cast over 24 million ballots last time and 99% were counted within three hours of polls closing. Why does it take so long?

People are very much overestimating how conservative Kemp is. His 2018 campaign exagerated aspects of his political ethos.

Well, he's kind of created that mold for himself now, hasn't he?

The biggest problem he and other Republicans in quickly evolving states like Georgia are going to face is there isn't really a divide between Main Street / Wall Street Republicans and hard right conservatives, so much as it is between hard right Trumpist conservatives like Kemp and literally batsh**t crazy Qanon types like Georgia's newest congresswoman. Either flavor is not particularly palatable to the heaviest growing portions of the electorate there, but attempts of further moderation and bipartisanship are not remotely on the table to anyone who wishes to win a GOP primary.

Because I have a 50€ bet on William Hill, in which I would win 450€ if Trump ends somewhere between 240 and 268 EV.

If he wins both states, Trump drops below 240 EV ...

Nobody cares about your gambling!  God!

It's like coming on this thread to talk about your fantasy football team.  Except its worse because the rest of us have a very real, personal stake in the outcome of this election, and you're just hoping for things to happen so you can win a couple hundred euros.

I also have a very real personal stake in the outcome of this election.

I want Biden to win (just not in GA or AZ) and I want the money.

Take your outrage elsewhere plz guys.

A non-American betting money on a US election and hoping the fascist wins is kind of disgusting. Literally hoping to profit off of other people's suffering.

What happens to Trump after he loses? He simply... goes back to what he used to do before, which is nothing? Probably use his ex-president status to get money and pay his debts?

That’s kinda anticlimactic after the chaos of the last 4 years but it makes sense since life is not a movie or book plot even if politics under Trump were so cartoonish that it looked like it was.

But in the back of my mind I think I expected to have some kind of conclusive ending where the villain is defeated forever or even a redemption plot twist where it was revealed his enemies were the real bad guys. To have a close election with a marginal defeat of Trump is so casual, Republicans will control senate and push Biden to be more conservative and Trumpism will stay so alive after this that it doesn’t really feel like the end lived up to the hype the story set itself for with its middle and beginning.

You know, before the election I will readily and proudly acknowledge having a dick taste for the idea of Trump rotting in prison for the rest of his days for everything he's done. A vicarious Delight to see the downfall of such a fundamentally horrendous president and person. But now as it seems Biden is going to be president but with an obstructionist McConnell led Republican Senate, it doesn't seem quite as important.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely want the man brought to Justice , for crimes he has quite obviously committed in and out of the White House. It is as crucial now as ever to re-establish the fundamental president that no one is above the law, including, if not especially, the president. And this goes for his inner circle and worst actors of his administration as well. Nevertheless, while crucial to re-establish the rule of law, Trump's helpful eventual incarceration won't provide a single additional person health insurance, won't reunite a single child locked up at the border with their family, won't remove an ounce of greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere and won't raise the pay one penny of people working too hard for too little.

It'd be emotionally satisfying and upset the Trump voters.  And more importantly, Trump broke numerous laws.

Biden extended his lead in Nevada from 8,000 votes to 12,000 votes on the latest update.

Thanks for posting this meme, I say, as I laugh in real life and am reminded of how I'm opposed to mass scale one-cycle voter disenfranchisement.

And I have a personal stake because a Biden win in AZ and GA puts us in a much better place for the next decade as a country and that actually matters.

America is like a third world country in terms of counting ballots. In Spain we cast over 24 million ballots last time and 99% were counted within three hours of polls closing. Why does it take so long?
Downballot races also have to be counted:

But maybe, just maybe, we should take lessons from Canada, most of Europe or Australia, because they don't have these delays.
Don't forget that in most European countries way less elections have to be counted at once. German federal elections just have 2 votes for instance, while the US elect every single office from President, Representative, Senator, State Legislator, County Official, City Councillor to Garbage Commissioner at the same time.

In 2013, in the state of Hesse (~Missouri in terms of population) there were state legislature elections taking place simultaneously with federal elections and it took them until next morning to have the results for the state legislature elections. Now imagine how much time would be needed if every other statewide and local office were elected additionally.

Spanish local and regional elections take place on different dates, right?

Eh... not really. Biden will likely get PA, so that's a wrap. There's no way a recount in Wisconsin would net Trump 20k votes.

We're going to get ballots from rural areas that will drive that number down, but its a good result for Biden.

I think you got something wrong here.

I bet 50€ on Trump winning 240-268 EV, because it had very good odds.

That means Trump loses the election ...
