I know it’s dangerous to judge based off Atlantic Canada but… based on that. Woof

Conservative plurality and days of negotiations it is

4 gains (and 2 Liberal gains over NDP and Green) in Atlantic is not enough for them to pass Liberals in seats. They would need 6 to 8.

Based on what we've seen so far, it's a tight race. The question for who'll have the most seats might well be answered in a small handful of very close ridings.

BQ back in the lead in Gaspesie-Iles de la Madeleine, and Tories take their first lead in Miramichi-Grand Lake.

Globe and Mail calls Liberal holds in Saint John and Sydney-Victoria. CBC is being much more cautious.

The PPC guy looks like a toal clown, a blue sh**t and baseball cap makes you look like a complete tool.

And Liberals back again in the lead in Gaspésie--Îles-de-la-Madeleine

I think 10 seats out east is the threshold the CPC needs to win, right now they're teetering at 9 and it looks like that 10th is out of the question with the CBC calling Sydney-Vic for the Grits. Deciding factor now might be if the NDP can pick off seats like Halifax, and on that note, is St John's East called yet?

I get the feeling this will not be the last time MillennialModerate posts Liberal doom in this thread tonight, if the US presidential election night thread and the Georgia Senate elections threads are any indication.

No one should pop the champagne right now. In fact, it's likely not advised to do so for a while.

CBC calls Saint John for the Libs so CPC+5 in Atlantic is the likeliest result now. Both parties are theoretically hitting their CBC benchmarks, but I think O'Toole wanted better.

And by the way, it's showtime.

Cause regional divides matter more in Canada than the rest of the West

The CBC's Asian version of Steve Kornacki is great! Strongly dislike the main anchorwoman though.

Odd candidate I noticed: former NDP MP Francois Lapointe is the Liberal candidate in Montmagny-L'Islet-Kamouraska-Riviere-du-Loup. (He's also currently leading Conservative incumbent Bernard Genereux, but that's with under *50* votes counted).

2.5 hour line in Spadina-Fort York poll, so that's another reason why the urban areas are going slower.

Lol. I literally just called him Canadian Steve Kornacki to my mom. We need to invite him on Atlas if he gets a kick out of watching cumulative vote count graphs over the course of the night.

Another former Quebec NDP MP, Denis Blanchette is actually running for the Greens in Louis-Hébert.

Is it just me, or do fewer incumbents in Canada seem to run for re-election than in the US? If that's the case, is it their own choice or a nomination process thing?
