Looks like they didn't publish it today. I imagine when that we will see a dissent and concurrence leaked before publishing. Or not. I really doubt that they don't overturn it but they might not. They aren't going to get a more conservative court for a while since there now isn't a single Democrat or potential "moderate" Republicans over the age of 70. They would basically have to win the next presidential four terms, while keeping the senate,  for them to have a 50/50 shot of getting an even more conservative court.

Ted Cruz is engaging in some classic Republican projection. (Any violence will play into the Republicans hands, as they will exaggerate it and use it to justify their own top-down terrorist advocacy.)

Nope, SCOTUS trolls us by never releasing the big ones till the end of the term.

More eyeballs watching them for longer means more scrutiny of their lower-profile (but often significant) rulings. This isn't good for them, but it is for democracy.

Even then, the actual effect to democracy will be determined by how a power-hungry SCOTUS is dealt with.

I pray there is no violence! I do not want Spanberger to lose!

She would lose if there is mass violence by the liberals.

All it takes is one single person to get violent and conservatives will broadcast the footage 24/7 on every platform and talk about it nonstop and make a dozen threads asking "why won't liberals condemn the 6/24 violence" and draw a false equivalence between it and 1/6, and spend the next decade trying to gaslight us into thinking the entire thing was super violent by constantly bringing up that one moment of violence and ignoring the tens of millions of people who will undoubtedly protest peacefully.

Other people will shamelessly exploit a death or even an aggravated assault/battery as way to cause other problems and to blame “the protests” on them. The same way the cops went on strike because of the protests and then blamed the protests on the rise in crime.

Good thing Democratic leadership went to bat for the last anti-choice Democrat in the House instead of his pro-choice challenger 👍

Shout to every left of center or pro choice person who was to selfish and persecuted to vote for Hillary Clinton on 11/8/2016. Hope you learned your lesson.

No need to single out any group. This is also on people who thought Hillary was too liberal.

"Lol you libtards are being hysterical, they're not going to overturn Griswold, Lawrence, or Obergefell."

This is the beginning of that.

Solo opinion? In other words there's no political appetite to repeal ssm.

Doesn't make today any less despicable.

The most "moderate" Republican justice was always going to be fetishised by the pundit class and see higher approval ratings with the other side as a result, but there's a bit more to why Democratic voters have such a (relative) fondness for Roberts. He's a master of the meaningless civility politics so many PMC types crave:

Only Thomas wrote that those old cases should be overturned? That's good news actually.
