Fetterman, like Herschel Walker, has a low bar to meet tonight. If he can hold his own against Oz, he will be viewed as the winner. If Oz is too aggressive with him or attacks him in a manner perceived as "unfair", than Fetterman will be viewed sympathetically. Oz has a tight rope to walk.

Independent write-in candidate.  Every little bit helps, I guess.

So tonight is going to be a disaster are we all in agreement on that ?

We just have to remember the MillennialModerate rule:

If Oz does well, Fetterman is toast and we're fools if we think otherwise.

If Fetterman does well, it doesn't matter because nobody pays attention to these things anyway.

No matter what happens, it will either change nothing or be good for Republicans.

If all of rural and suburban PA had its results in by 3AM on election night and Fetterman was leading 51-49, MillennialModerate would insist Philadelphia and Pittsburgh were about to show up big for Oz.

My impression is that a decisive number of voters in PA have doubts about both candidates, both as to their grasp of the issues, and plans to address them, both as to character issues, and yes, Fetterman's capacity to serve. If one candidate can mitigate the doubts about himself substantially more than the other candidate about themself, I think that is the race.

Yes, I think both candidates have a lot to prove to the voters. Both are flawed candidates.

Oz's task at this point is to finish consolidating the Republican base and to persuade the undecideds (who seem to lean Republican), that he is the Senator who they should elect. He has been hammering Fetterman on crime, and I expect him to continue that tonight. Fetterman needs to articulate why a progressive policy agenda, such as with healthcare and the minimum wage, is the kind of agenda that will advance Pennsylvania forward, and push back against Oz's attacks.

GOP is dumping another $6M into PA, seemingly shifting most of the Bolduc money over here.

Obviously a ton of money, but they're PACs and are not going to get as good rates two weeks out as they would have had earlier (or if it came from Oz)

Spending has to reach capacity right? Both parties are already saturating the airwaves and the internet with ads.  Where does the rest of this money go?

The fate of the Senate [potentially] comes down to the whims of undecided Paterno truthers.

God help us all!

I'm sorry, who does Fetterman have to "prove" he is fit to serve? He's been out on the campaign trail doing tons of events, talking to voters, doing interviews, etc. There is no more "proof" you need. The way the press has handled this has again been pretty disgraceful, and they've barely laid a finger on Oz this entire campaign.

In a normal campaign, you'd expect there to be a couple more profiles of the fact that this man still has double digit negative favorability going into Election Day and how that is impacting *his* campaign and yet.... crickets. It's always all about Fetterman.

The enemy of the people media have memed themselves into believing that being able to recite some glib lines effectively in the moronic format of the political television 'debate' is of vital import to discharging the duties of a legislator. This is because they are fundamentally very stupid and, presumably, vaguely remember reading in their high school history class that Lincoln debated once or something. Hope Fetterman can drop a zinger or sick 'gotcha' or else his campaign will really be in trouble!!

Catering for the campaign team from Outback Steakhouse, I'd bet.

What is this GOP strategist talking about. "Haven't had chance to elect a Senator there?"

Republicans have held this Senate seat since 1968, excluding Specter's last 20 months in office.

For someone who made a career out of speaking in front of a camera, Oz is deeply uncharismatic.

Not that Oz comes across as remotely likeable, but Fetterman is really not doing himself any favors here. I know part of it is because of his stroke, but you can tell how used he is to social media as opposed to actual debate stages.

Bad start for Fetterman. He clearly isn't well. Oz staying on message about crime and inflation.
