Richard Lugar was the last to lose to a primary challenger. Will any incumbent(s) in 2024, 2026, 2028, or 2030, lose to a primary challenger?

Romney probably loses in 2024.

50-50

Simena was on course to defeat until she left the Democrats.

Murkowski survived in 2022 because she managed to defacto abolish primaries in her state and ride the local Alaska blue wave.

Quite a few republicans who retired that faced primary defeat in the past few years.

Thing is any Senator who is on course to primary defeat would try to either "cheat" the system or retire.

Romney will be fine. The Utah GOP is much less MAGA than other states’ GOPs. But he could retire.

Should Katie Porter or Adam Schiff win, could either one win in 2030?
