I am getting a little tired of the "why is Kennedy even running? Markey is perfect" talking point. Markey is consistently in Massachusetts less than other members of the delegation. He voted for bills that progressives loathe, such as the crime bill, Patriot act, and Iraq War. There's a reason why Markey is so vulnerable to a primary, and it's not just the Kennedy name.

and so would Kennedy if he had been in Congress in the 2000s. If Joe Kennedy was Joe Smith, "Smith" would lose in a landslide for his record.

Oh, I totally agree. But these are all reasons why he isn't a lock in this primary, or even a favorite.

There is always MA Gov in 2022 or small chance that Warren is picked as Veep he runs in the special election.

I knew it was trending Markey, I was the biggest fan of Kennedy, but stop donating when Hoyer went all in for Kennedy. Just having Sinema on your side before Covid 19 was a good strategy,  but not in the aftermath of Covid 19 when donors only donate to campaigns that are necessary.

That's why McGrath has been cut from donors list

All this pandering to the Twitter crowd and trying to be hip and cool by posting lo-fi edits and RTing fanmade anime intros is super embarrassing and almost makes me want to support Kennedy.

I have seen like five Kennedy signs and one Markey sign. I don’t know how many people in Massachusetts watch the debate but I felt Kennedy was the winner. Both of them kinda said the same thing over and over again.

I haven't seen signs for either candidate. My area is so out of touch.

I think it's less a sign of demographic identification and more a case of his social media being controlled by a specific type of activist.

You’re right that’s horrible

But a JKIII anime intro would be worse.

How is this putting the nail in Kennedy’s coffin when he led the last poll by 16% and has every poll but one? Still tilt Kennedy imo

Imagine finding Twitter BS more concerning than rich people nepotism. This is why American politics sucks, people treat it like stan wars between teenage pop-stars

Could Kennedy be anymore transparent that he's just using the Senate seat as a launchpad in 2024?

He's going to have to improve significantly as a debater if that's going to be at all plausible.

Kennedy probably thinks he can win the nomination based on fundraising and name recognition alone.

Worst part of that is that he might be right.

He's not even gonna win a Senate election in Massachusetts on those alone lol.

LMAO

Kennedy himself is white, well-off, and well-educated, so it's absolutely ridiculous that he or his campaign surrogates would say something like this. This only intensifies my support for Markey, who really does need to show this arrogant and entitled congressman the door.
