This is incredibly tasteless and more proof that cranky Republican Boomers like Aunt Lindsey have zero relation to ordinary people if they don't understand that many Americans in their 40s are still paying back their student loans.

Graham got murdered at this debate lol
I have not seen a beat down like that in a very long time

No it wasn't. I watched the whole debate and thought it was a draw. Harrison should have painted Graham as a sell out to big corporates, a warmonger or SC being one of the worsts states for education and other indexes. Meanwhile Graham turned his influence in Washington a to a positive. I predict Graham by 2-4 points

South Carolina isn't the best place to run a Bernie Sanders-like campaign.

Yeah that clip was great. Harrison made himself look like the adult in the room while Graham is a child

In any case, Harrison did speak for a fair bit on Medicaid expansion.

Yeah especially "muh warmongers" considering SC has such a heavily military based economy

Not a losing issue in any way, shape or form really.

If it won in (non-atlas) redder states, it should win in SC.

Harrison painted Graham as he needed to, as a lying, flip flopping politician who works for the national GOP above South Carolina. Which is exactly what Graham is. Meanwhile Harrison made it quite clear what he'll do for the state, and in SC its important for him to show some bipartisanship to win.

Honestly I think Harrison needs to split all this money he's getting into ads about Graham, and into turnout operations

Anti-war and anti-military are distinct (i should know, I'm anti-military). Large military population means when a war is going badly, everyone knows about it (growing up in Maryland, a big military state, the truth about Iraq was inescapable).

I'm worried about the black belt shift to the right from 2016 to 2018.

I'm worried about the black belt shift to the right from 2016 to 2018. Is this reversible or not.

Most of it is just the black belt losing it's black population, and also the fact that black turnout in the South is terrible during midterm elections. It'll wing back in a full turnout election, but overall it prolly is trending to the right just due to population shifts, but that is canceled out by the gains Democrats are making in other parts of the state.

If we trade Jones for Harrison, there won't be enough wide open spaces in Wyoming to contain the nut.

The real bad news for Graham is that the debate is penetrating national news and receiving coverage from outlets that typically wouldn't touch a Senate debate.

The last time I recall this happening was the Ayotte/Hassan debate when Ayotte called Trump a role model for children.

Over and over we see it!

If not for the pandemic, we could be seeing turnout exceed 65%.

Yes but you don’t win as a Democrat in South Carolina by calling a veteran a warmonger. Besides I’d wager the military population in South Carolina is different to the military community in South Carolina

Even in 2008 Obama rejected it!
