There is no excuse why saloons are closed this long, there is no way you will catch a flu bug by doing someone's hair.  If that was the case, barbers would have died already. Nails and  Tattoos yes. Also, Libraries should be open, everyone dont have access to computers

Humans have already been given shots flu, menegites, pneumonia shots.  But if they are concerned about homelessness

Saloons or salons?

If people can drink through straws, then maybe we can re-open saloons. But even that practice looks shaky.

I get sick of these media polls saying that Dems dont want the country to open up, to make Biden look good
I am firmly behind Biden, he isnt a rapist, but he has made sexual contact with Reade due to his performance on the Anita Hill confirmation hearings
And got Carol Mosley-Braun to defend him after Harris attack.

Dems do want barber shops, movie theaters and Libraries open, everyone dont have access to a computer. We all have gotten our pneumonia and flu shots.

People dont die anymore by dying with a simple cold or flu, it takes a lot more to die, open up the country already

COVID-19 sounds about as easy to get as a simple cold or the flu but is really dangerous. Among those who are recognized to have gotten it, about 5% have died. People who get it often get dangerous consequences that can kill them later.

If you get the chance to do something that gives you a 5% chance of doing, do you do it?  I don't drive drunk, I don't do street drugs.  I heed warning signs at cliffs, waterfalls, and other dangerous phenomena. AIDS was scary enough, but it practically requires that one do IV drugs or reckless sex to get it.

Normally your posts have a very thin strand connecting all the disparate points, but that makes zero sense.

I think he is saying that the Reada thing probably happened because Biden went to the defense of Thomas.

Biden's views are similar to Bill Clinton's, the two have learned from each other, Biden is viewed like Trump as having sexual misconduct but not a criminal. Unless the case is taken to CRT or the Rs recapture Congress in 2022, Biden is immune from investigations

I dont know why Dems arent trying to get vote by mail, an in person vote will guarentee a Trump victory despite this crisis, they spent their entire vacation on UBI benefits that's why Ds are in trouble in Cal 25 and funding is low, online.

A 400 EC map is unlikely but a 300 EC map with FL, OH or AZ along with 278 is more likely.

There was only a 1% chance of Dems win 60 Senate seats and 500 EC votes

Three state polls from Emerson conducted May 8-10:

California (n=800):

Approve 30
Disapprove 59

Biden 59, Trump 29 (with leaners: Biden 65, Trump 35)

Ohio (n=725):

Approve 48
Disapprove 45

Trump 46, Biden 43 (with leaners: Trump 51, Biden 49)

Texas (n=800):

Approve 46
Disapprove 44

Trump 47, Biden 41 (with leaners: Trump 52, Biden 48)

Trash the MSN polls, there is no EC collapse, AZ along with 278 is probably the best Dems can hope for

AZ, CO, KS, MT, NC Senate flips

Collins can win

It looks like a rebound for President in two states that he must win to have any chance at all. The news may be numbing us... until we know someone who dies of COVID-19. Still, movement is within the margin of error. In short, don't make too much out of a color change for two states that combine for 56 electoral votes even if those constitute just over one tenth of all electoral votes.

Trump approval 50-54%
Trump approval positive but under 50%
ties are in white
Trump approval negative but disapproval under 50%
Trump disapproval 50-54%
Trump disapproval 55% or higher

Salons. Saloons are drinking places.

I have a suspicion that viruses can survive fairly long on human hair.

Books, I regret to say seem like great surfaces on which a virus could flourish.

As for libraries being closed -- people who have the Internet and an old smartphone (I have two that I have lost and found) can be used as readers.

I have already gotten the strong pneumonia shot that until recently was available only to people over 65. I expected to get it on my 65th birthday. Every year, every respiratory infection seems to get harder on me; I can almost predict that pneumonia will be on my death certificate whether at age 74 or 94.

If you have a computer then you can get Project Gutenberg, which has all literary classics in the public domain -- including any in final form as of December 31, 1924. To be sure there are some great works after that date, but Project Gutenberg gets one works from the Epic of Gilgamesh to early Kafka.

By all means, download this:

 https://www.gutenberg.org/

If you know someone who does not have a reader device, then the most charitable thing that you can do for that person's sanity is to get one and make sure that this. YouTube, Wikipedia, the Library of Congress, and WebMD are on it. If the person is religious, then load the website for his religious denomination.

How long can a virus live on someone's hair?

CNN
Trump job approval: 45/51 (-6)
Trump virus approval: 42/55 (-13)

Overall job approval is similar to last month (-7), while virus approval has tumbled (-7 last month)

Seems like the CNN sample is slightly more republican this month than last month, which would explain the 1 point shift in his approval rating. But yeah, seems like Trump is stable in the not quite -10% range.

Yeah, the age crosstabs are interesting. His approval is a bit high in the 18-34 range, and VERY high in the 35-49 range, but also shockingly low in the 65+ age group (42-57)

Seems like they got a more republican younger sample and a more liberal older sample

The MSN polls were only relevant during the height of coronavirus when it wasnt contained, Trump is down but not out as the Emerson polls show a 3 pt lead for Biden. As Biden continue to be hiding out and not be seen as well as Jill since Tara Reade allegations

If Biden loses, after Carville was so confident of a Biden win, it will go down as an upset like 2016
