More Elon being Elon:

I wonder if something happened a few years after 2012 that would have led many Ukrainians in the east to change their minds regarding Russia? Hmmm....

Obviously, not everything Elon Musk does is idiotic, but it would also be inaccurate to say that nothing is.

Re: Elon Musk

This is a map of the 2014 presidential election. The area in blue voted for the pro-Russia party.

This is map of the 2019 presidential election. The areas in green voted for Zelenskyy.

(Bloomberg) --The Swedish Security Service stated that the detonations caused the damage to the Nord Stream pipeline system in the country’s exclusive economic zone.
The completed investigation has “strengthened the suspicions of serious sabotage,” the Security Service said in a statement.

During the investigation, certain seizures have been made from the crime scene, it added.

"How will this effect global oil supply chains and consequently my long-term investments in European currency markets. Discuss with maps."
-Jaichind, probably

To be fair, there's nothing wrong with thinking about how you could personally make gains from the situation. I personally have made big gains betting against China's equities, and do plan to buy European equities after the worst of this winter. It's the attitude of simping for autocrats while enjoying the freedom and security of western democracies that really gets under my skin.

Edit: Furthermore, the Party of Regions wasn't simply "the pro-Russia party". Yes it favored good relations with Russia, but while also making closer ties to Europe. Yanukovych pursued an Association Agreement with the EU until Putin basically blackmailed him into not signing it.

Edit: Unsurprisingly, within a few hours his tweet was on Russian state television:

He really sucks man...

Conspiracist YouTuber, baby-swinger and deputy head of the Kherson occupation one-ups Kadryov and Prigozhin by calling for Shoigu to “commit” suicide:

Inmates, asylum, etc. Hopefully the generals pull the army out of Ukraine and put these clowns behind bars.

Ukraine is very close to linking up with the Kupyansk bridgehead on the eastern side of the Osikl River (if they haven't done so already):

Wagner seems to be the only competent fighting force at the moment. In Bakhmut they have advanced to it's south.

Translation: Yevgeny Prigozhin is jostling himself to become the next Tsar, or at least warlord over a large part of Russia, by being able to point to some tactical success in Ukraine, which will have no impact on the outcome of the war.

Well, it does have an impact on the war as Russia is a kleptocracy and as a for-profit group Wagner does hog scare resources and aren't willing to move out of their "lane" to more critical locales.  They have a brand to protect so they can't be seen losing so they just blast and bash in the same place, which incidentally is a whopping 15 miles from Popasna which Wagner took in May.  So, 15 miles in 3 months.

Rest in Pieces lol. This is the first EU citizen I've seen/heard of that has died fighting for Russia (the second tweet links to a 2015 interview with him where he claims Slovakia has become a colony of the EU):

"Let's celebrate the Glory of the Slavs...
Stefan Potocki from Kalna nad Hronom, Slovakia died heroically in the fight against fascism and for the freedom of the Donetsk People's Republic [doesn't the DPR no longer exist because it became a part of Russia?]. In 2012, he initiated and wrote the Free Citizen's Memorandum against the EU and NATO, as well as demonstrations of the end of the Brussels dictatorship and We are taking back our country.
At 25.07. In 2014, he went to the front, later he was already a citizen of the DPR, he also sent home to Slovakia a photo of the passport of a proud citizen of the DPR, from where he occasionally wrote and reported on the situation on the front line. His departure is the departure of a hero fighting for the future of our descendants.

Honor to his memory!"

Interesting question... If Russia does not lose DNR/LNR I assume they'll still be called Republics, like other federal Russian Subjects?

Not the first, an Irish citizen fighting for the LNR died back in March.

A Ukrainian tank took out a BM-27 Uragan multiple rocket launcher and its 9T452 transloader (which is what explodes).

I guess this is what happens when you "regroup" too quickly. Enemy tanks should not be able to get that close to long range weaponry.

Random bit of local knowledge: the only interesting thing in Kalná nad Hronom is a pedestal with an old Soviet tank and Dom bojovej slávy ('House of Battlefield Glory'), a (IIRC pretty propagandistic) museum of Soviet army. Maybe someone spent too much time there as a bored kid.

What's worse than mobilisation? The Russian government offers some answers:

America: a terrifying place where lesbians surround you, vegetarians regulate plane food, and black people jump toilet queues. Better to die in the Donbas than walk into hell itself.

Edit: I posted the auto-translated version instead.

Wow, the Russian government really must just be ran by a bunch of terminally online, brain fried boomers. That is just an embarrassing attempt at anti American propaganda.

The Russian target audience seems to be the average Tucker Carlson viewer.

But even in that regard, they are behind the times. Why does it feature vegetarian overlords (so 2008 - they could at least have involved Impossible Meat)? Why do they use the toilet analogy for black people rather than as some kind of anti-trans talking point? Their reactionary propaganda, like so many services and products of the Russian state, is retro in all the wrong ways.
