The first Korean-American woman elected to Congress is neither Young Kim nor Michelle Steel, it's Representative-elect Marilyn Strickland in WA-10.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marilyn_Strickland

None of them are the first Korean-American in Congress. Andy Kim from New Jersey, and there were others before him.

Edit: oh god this is just a riff off the stupid Charlie Kirk tweet from 2018 fml

Why does she get it? Aren't all of them considered elected at the same time?

Yup gotta take into account the bias of the commisions(generally who controls it from the begining)

AZ will be a lean R commision, AZ01 is gonna be a northern district that will be Likely R and AZ02will recede a bit from inner Tucson.

CA will def be Dem heavy too,

Michigan will probably be D favorable considering they are borderline teaching the commission members critical race theory.

I was about to say, seems like a party's thrown whenever a Republican wins a seat in here. Probably just the Dems focusing on Presidential race, which they won, and Reps focusing on Congress, where they overperformed.

Redistricting or not, Republicans have that Seat now for 2 years just to reel in that San Francisco Kartell a bit.

Yeah, I'm definitely enjoying following the late Congressional reports than the late presidential ones.

I am enjoying it too especially after we were being told that we were DOOMED everywhere on November 3rd.

Crazy Nancy & Hilarious Chuck were ready to uncork the Champagne by getting 52 or 53 Senate Seats + a similar DEM House Majority like they had after 2008.

IN FACT, everyone was saying this Election would be 2008 reloaded.

You expect 2022 to be a blue wave or what ?

Just you wait for OC redistricting.

Yup gotta take into account the bias of the commisions(generally who controls it from the begining)

AZ will be a lean R commision, AZ01 is gonna be a northern distric that will be Likely R and AZ02will recede a bit from inner Tucson.

CA will def be Dem heavy too,

Michigan will probably be D favorable considering they are borderline teaching the commission members critical race theory.

AZ01 is gonna be Safe R 100%. AZ02 will be tossup to Lean D. AZ04, AZ05, and AZ10 will be Safe R. The remaining seats are either 3 Safe D (Yuma-Tuscon, SW Phoenix, Tempe/Camelback) and 2 Lean R (NE Valley and NW Valley) or 4 Safe D (Yuma-Tuscon, SW Phoenix, Glendale-Camelback, Tempe-Scottsdale) and 1 Safe R (North Valley).

Basically, the Duceymander will create either a 3D-5R-2S map or a 4D-6R-1S map.

You're right that California and Michigan will be the opposite.

(puts on my naive innocent hat for purposes of drawing out an answer)

But California has an Independent Redistricting Commission as a well-intentioned reform. Are you telling me this Independent Redistricting Commission will suddenly draw districts in Orange County in a way to screw over a particular party in a partisan-purposed manner?

It looks pretty hard to draw 4 safe or likely D seats in Orange, no ?

I don't think they can justify dropping Yuma from the blue seat. Latino VRA and all. Plus the committee has to kind-of justify their decisions and dropping Gila and parts of Apache from the northern district might not be doable. Also, it might screw over Gosar. Anyhow, this is what I have for a non-Maricopa AZ map:
