And likely a working class Hispanic swing helped.
Precinct level data will be telling.

Harris county underwhelming swing is puzzling. While it could have been working-class Hispanic the obvious counter would be why didn't it happen in majority Hispanic Bexar. Where Biden performed almost 5 points better than HRC

I think that what Philly is doing is counting enough votes until:

1) The rest of the state whittles the margin enough that a dump of what they have counted tips the state enough to force a call,

or

2) They finish counting and can just dump it all at once to force a call, while the rest of the state continues to report little by little.

Georgia update:

Watching the SoS press conference: there are 8,899 UOCAVA (overseas and military ballots) issued, but the question is how many of them are postmarked and how many will arrive by tomorrow afternoon, the deadline. We don't know.
Don't military ballots get counted regardless of the deadline?

Do you really? Or do you just like that the democrats will be back in the white house?

Most democrats I know, all agree that Biden is an awful candidate on the basis that after 47 years he's still achieved nothing in politics, is likely taking corrupt money from foreign governments and changes his positions on core policies to suit the mood.

I hate to tell you, but those people are probably not Democrats.

Those are Republican talking points.

Yeah it appears Philly may be holding off until they can do a major dump all at once

Biden would need ~65% to tie. His mail ins have been going 70%+. Why are you always lying?

I really enjoy these news conferences about the intricacies of ballot scanners and collection times but it would be nice if they just updated us on results.

This should pretty clearly be enough for Biden.

It really just shows how a lot of our elections offices are not funded properly. There's got to be an easier and more effective way to do this.

No. By law, UOCAVA ballots must be postmarked by 7pm on election day and arrive at county election offices within three days of the close of polls (that's Friday).

I like Biden for Biden.  He's a class act, a decent man, a "good" politician, willing to work across the aisle, recognizes the power of bipartisanship, and has a strong desire to restore decency and respect to the Oval Office.

Your guy is the most horrid person ever to be president of this country.

Reading some right wing stuff around the net. These people really seem completely convinced that the entire election is one big fix. The levels of delusion is sad and super dangerous. I have been of the opinion than Joe Biden is the right president for this moment in time, but if the majority of Trumpists think that Biden flat out stole the election, then there is not going to be any healing. Just one further reason why it is too bad that Biden didn't win in an undisputed landslide, although I guess Trump would have claimed voter fraud even if he was blown out by 15 points.

Right. I don’t think that Biden winning 413-125 would have made any difference. Election fraud conspiracism is election fraud conspiracism and such a result might have appeared even more dubious (“It’s so obviously rigged!!! Deep state coup!!!”).

There are 8,000 outstanding but they need to be received by tomorrow if they are in the mail at all (big if).

On MSNBC they said a military guy was meeting with Trump just now.

Chances Trump is demanding they speed up delivery and/or commit some kind of fraud over ballots in Georgia?
