I'm back. First thing I check on is Loreto and it looks like things improved for Fujimori? And I agree with all the backhand math going on between the expats and the country.

I don't think Loreto's really improved for Fujimori? It's been hovering between 54-46 and 55-45 for a while.

Argentina 46.5% in. 22k votes (20.5k valid)

Fujimori: 57.3%
Castillo: 42.7%

Argentina and Uruguay best American countries, the lowest % of the Fujimori vote is there.

Uruguay - 55% Fujimori
Argentina - 57%
Brazil - 59%
Bolivia - 65%
Ecuador - 66%
Colombia - 72%
Mexico - 73%
Paraguay - 74%
Canada - 76%

Portugal was quite strong for Fujimori also: 83% to Castillo's 17%. However, just 117 ballots were cast.

Yeah, I was wrong about Norway being the only country Castillo won. Apparently he has also won in Sweden and Russia. And I guess in Croatia as well for some reason.

Russia - 57% Castillo
Norway - 56% Castillo
Sweden - 51% Castillo
Denmark - 54% Fujimori
Germany - 60% Fujimori
Finland - 61%
Poland - 63%
Switzerland - 68%
UK - 69%
Romania - 71%
Ukraine - 75%
Portugal and Greece - 83%

I think you're only looking at the domestic vote totals. Adding in the expat vote that's been counted so far, Fujimori's lead is still just under 17K.

Update: 93.57 in, 50.014-49.986

Castillo gains 0.036 from 0.26. Castillo now leads in Peru.

Additional 3% of expat vote. Around 1% each from Cusco and Loreto.

I think my forecast of an overall Castillo win of 50.3-49.7% is now very likely. And he will probably lead Fujimori by more than 100,000 ballots when all is set and done.

Considering the only country in the world that Castillo won was NORWAY, I think, that’s pretty good result for the Southern Cone. Hopefully Chile follows suit.

I'm surprised Castillo didn't won here. Of course i know nothing of the politics of peruvian emigrants, but i would have thought that, since we receive mainly poor inmigrants (unlike the US or europe), Castillo was favoured. I guess maybe we get lots of limeños, or perhaps many of the people who voted here were older inmigrants who came in the 80-90's and remember Sendero Luminoso? I probably i just looked at the vote of the bolivian community last year and wrongly assumed it would be similar in this case.

It was obvious hours ago Castillo would win domestically given what was left out there.

The real question was (and still is!) by how much and how many emigrant votes are still out there. There's still nothing from the US counted.

Castillo gains 0.09 from 0.49. Castillo now leads the race.

Looks like a good chunk of that was from Cusco, increase of like 3-4%.

Of course he did. I want to know who the 26% of Peruvians who moved to Cuba and voted for Fujimori are - did their experiences there really disappoint them?

I for one can't wait for Fujimori to claim that the CIA flipped votes to install a favorable leftist government. The realignment will truly be complete.

Not surprising, just like it isn’t that Russia is the European country most friendly to Castillo lmao. I bet that when some Peruvians moved there it was still USSR.
