I hate how Canada networks include “leading” in there total seats.

It’s confusing as hell.

78-33 for Liberals before the West seats come in… that can’t be good, right? Or wrong?

I remember when Bush was leading Gore in California. But it was immediately called for Gore off the exit poll.

Assuming too much this early is imprudent.

Liberals hold beyond-safe inner Montreal seat of Saint-Leonard-Saint-Michel; first Liberal win outside Atlantic Canada.

Also BQ hold their own by-far-safest seat of Becancour-Nicolet-Saurel, held by the Dean of the Canadian Parliament, Louis Plamondon (first elected as a PC in 1984, and later a founding member of the Bloc).

Doesn't look like the Conservative swing in Atlantic Canada is translating to the rest of the country. RIP.

Not a surprise if that happens but it's still very early in?

No interesting swing constituency outside the Atlantic has >10% counted yet, yeah. But we probably know enough from the safe seats to say that changes from 2019 will be incremental.

Anyone know what's happening in Milton, where the Tory deputy unexpectedly got crushed last election? Is that a highly educated seat, why was the Liberal trend so strong there?

Heavily growing suburbs, that's quite Asian and Muslim, but also wealthy.

My understanding was that it was new subdivisions+star Liberal candidate+Doug Ford's unpopularity.

What is with the bizarre results in Gatineau where the Green candidate was leading briefly and now the Liberal is leading with the Green in second and the Free Party doing well so far for some reason?

First G&M Ontario call is a Tory hold in Parry Sound-Muskoka. Has been continuously held by the Tories since 2006 so not surprising.

8% in, so over 1000 votes and not something to sneeze at -- possible NDP gain from the Liberals in Windsor--Tecumseh.

Trudeau has been sweating bullets over the last few weeks, looks like he's going to get away with it.

Nah, it's clear that Conservatives aren't making anywhere near the gains they need outside of Atlantic Canada.

LIBERAL GOVERNMENT/GOUVERNEMENT LIBÉRAL! Only question is whether it is a majority or minority government.
