I'm glad to hear Biden is claiming his mandate. The people of America have spoken very clearly; in addition to his imminent electoral college landslide, he will probably win the popular vote with a landslide margin of over 5,000,000 votes. This election was not close.

Republicans should embrace that Biden is reaching out to them in a legitimate way. He's promising to be a President for Americans of all political affiliations, which he most certainly will fulfill. Donald Trump has never even attempted to govern for all of us.

Maybe if they nominated someone who actually had some appeal for libertarians instead of a wannabe fascist pig they would vote for them. No reason to think any of those voters would automatically prefer Trump to Biden.

What is a provisional ballot?

It's a ballot that has some issue which may mean it's invalid, and that has to be checked before the vote counts. In this election the main reason for these is that someone was mailed an absentee ballot but went to vote in person, so the administrator needs to check that the absentee ballot was not returned (this is the guard against "voting twice"). The last gasp for the Republicans in PA is that these ballots could be super R like the absentee ballots have been super D, but there's plenty of evidence against that. One is that the counted provisional ballots so far have not been, as the Erie county blurb mentions, another is that most of them are in urban areas (40K in Philadelphia), and a third point is that since there are still 60-80K absentee ballots outstanding, the provisional ballots would need to be something like 90-10 R to put Trump back in the lead.
