CNN says PA has 163K ballots left to count.

15-20K provisionals just in Philly as well.

If Biden wins ~75% of the 163K, that is 122K to 41K. 80K net gain. Would put Biden up about ~62K in PA.

Any updates on when they'll report more votes? It seems like they've been counting for the last 24 hours and shown almost nothing for it.

also, given that ~90K of the votes are from Allegheny, the total will likely be more than 75% for Biden since those counties will likely go 85-90% for Biden

they said there should be another Philly dump imminent in minutes possibly, but it likely wont be the whole 53K

IDK, I still don't buy that there is only 53K left in Philly. They said there is 15-20K provisionals so they may almost all go for Joe, but 53K going like 48-5K would only give Biden 572-573 in Philly, which would be nearly 10K under Hillary. With much higher turnout this go around.

They are still saying there is about 75K ballots that were requested but not returned, I can't imagine the rate is *that* high when the total requested was 440K. That's a VERY high rate of non-return.

So before that dump there are 53K Philly votes left to report plus the 15-20k Philly provisionals? The rest then is from the suburbs, Allegheny, and elsewhere?

I ignored him. His comments are incredibly racist and disturbing and frankly shouldn't be allowed on the forum.

Can anybody reasonably explain why Nevada and Arizona are counting this slowly? My students ask this all of the time and I feel that I pretty much BS myself through a very generalized answer. Are there any particularly reasons why these two states are THIS slow right now?

Ah goddamnit, I went way too far.

I hope you all can understand.

See the thing is, I deliberately abstained from alcohol on election night, knowing it would f--k me up. But I had some the night BEFORE and now even more the nights AFTER.

I didn't actually mean that BS about nuking Cuba or anything. Needless to say I am EXTREMELY disappointed in Florida, just lashed out with as much shock value as possible. I swear it's not intended to be racial. It's just unchecked, misdirected, drunken anger that probably should not be expressed anywhere.

That all said... Still think FL sucks and states like GA are our path moving forward.

I'm sure someone already mentioned this, but Biden winning Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin narrowly and Michigan by a larger but still small margin shows he made the right choice with Kamala Harris. It isn't only about her, but taking a chance on high African-American turnout was the winning bet over any other option.

Yep. Especially since Harris was deployed on purpose to turbocharge turnout in many dark blue areas.

Another day and PA still hasn't been decided yet. Unbelievable, this is unacceptable.

This country should be ashamed at how slow the voting process takes.

Georgia? I don't know her.

Allegheny is even more unbelievable. They had 36K more votes and they took yesterday off.

It's okay to get angry, Alben, but please please take a deep breath and collect yourself the best you can.

Besides, we have bigger fish to fry right now -- we can argue and rage over the results when someone hits 270.

Aren't they waiting on a Friday conference to inspect those ballots? I believe the date was set by court for Friday.

Do we know what the outstanding vote in Georgia looks like? Is it still mainly from democratic areas?

It's nothing new for Arizona, anyway.  A big part of the slowdown comes from the tedious and time-consuming signature verification process.  Literally every signature needs to be checked against the corresponding signature that one used when he/she registered to vote.

If something's off, then the voting office attempts to get in touch with the voter.  That's not the whole answer, but the simple response is "because Arizona's voting check system is extremely meticulous".

Is the count this morning from Nevada supposed to be most of the remaining votes? Or at least hopefully enough to call it...

163k?? The github page says 275k? Still shouldn't be a problem for Biden, but it is really frustrating with these varying numbers.
