GWU going to online instruction. Unreal. Casedemic is here

I am telling y’all right now:

If a case surge costs us the nfl, cfb playoffs, in person instruction, etc

The dems will be absolutely blasted into the moon by voters in November.

I’m talking a 45 seat loss

Interesting… White House pivoting to hard negative on the deranged Twitter doctors… Joe Biden must publicly denounce and condemn Eric Dingle Feig

I think it's time we change the thread title, Delta is a Boomer on its way out at this point.

TFW the Boomer Remover is a Boomer.

I’m not saying you’re wrong about Dems taking a beating.

But lockdowns and school/work from home largely occurred under Trump’s administration. More so than Biden’s.

Well Trump isn’t President anymore. So people aren’t going to blame him for anything that is going on under Biden’s watch.

You're not wrong.

My point is that lockdowns were almost entirely under Trump.  So stop with the "dEmS aRe LoCkInG uS dOwN!" nonsense.

In March of 2020 Trump actually praised governors for locking down their states

President Trump applauded California Gov. Gavin Newsom and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for taking "strong and bold steps" by ordering all nonessential workers to stay home” in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus

Looking back, it's clear that in the early months of the pandemic Trump had no problem with state lockdowns and he supported the governor who did it...

Even during Trump’s term, Republicans were the ones pushing to reopen while Democrats were the ones who favored lockdowns.

Why would you punish the students for the actions of their administration?

Because Stanford would obviously reverse track.

Come on people, get a grip here. I am likely to be the biggest supporter of NPI's on this forum and I'm telling you it will be a cold day in hell before any state governor imposes another shelter-in-place or shuts down all nonessential businesses. The most we will get is some mask mandates, which falls far, far short of a "lockdown". If Twitter and Facebook become flooded with people begging for oxygen containers and people are falling over dead in the street, then maybe we will get some social distancing restrictions on businesses. Maybe.

By the way, if private businesses and institutions decide to restrict themselves, that is not a "lockdown". That is not the fault of any government, nor of Democrats or Joe Biden.

Voluntary lockdowns then. Also, I think it's fairly likely schools will be closes for month or so (January).

If you extrapolate it, the hospitalization will likely get to at least 70-80% of Delta top, and about 20-30% of deaths top. In Gauteng that is. But in US the death count is already of 60% of Delta peak - so who knows.

By the way, this is from Original/Alpha vs Delta in Uk.

Muh Delta was much milde than previous versions! Nuh. Effect of vaccines/immunity from previous infection.
