Gotta love the white boys who wouldn't know a racist caricature if it bit them in the face.

Gerrymandering really needs to be looked at in the context of an entire map.

If you're looking for a discussion of gerrymandering that focuses on context rather than abstruse rules and the mathematics of topology, you're in the wrong place. People here care more about county breaks, highway connectivity, compactness, and how neat a district's line look on a map than they do about representation or what the populations represented look like.

Godlike post.

Beto's shift to the left isn't gonna win him swing voters, Cruz will win by 6 points.

This notion that swing voters are wise and thoughtful centrists is one that needs to be dispelled.

Hot take: Calthrina whining about civility whenever he gets the chance is more annoying than people being uncivil, which at least is occasionally entertaining and not incredibly self-righteous in a tone-deaf way.

Don't let common sense and a grounded understanding of margins of error get in the way of typical Atlas overreaction... Roll Eyes

B-b-b-but muh strong candidate Buehler! Muh weak incumbent Brown! Muh sleeper race! Muh Oregon is ripe for the picking for the GOP muh!!!

Oregon is Safe DStrong Likely D. News at 11.

Sleeper race is Cuomo or Newsom losing, more so Cuomo

Cuomo and Newsom would not lose even if they touched children.

Are we still making this stupid argument after Roy Moore lost in a state that was seemingly invincible for Republicans? Californians and New Yorkers aren’t as brain dead stupid as Alabama republicans.

Atlas Democrats:

"Trump is obviously a vile human being, why do still people vote Republican?"

Atlas Democrats, after a wealthy Republican says he will stop voting Republican because Trump is a vile human being:

"I don't want your support, neoliberal scum!"

Some could say this of me, as I am likely to vote for more Democrats than Republicans this year (for parochial reasons).

...like me; a Republican supporting Bill Nelson.

Why are you supporting Nelson? Even if you don't like Scott for whatever reason; how can you, given the views that you have, think anything good would come out of Democrats taking back the Senate?

Nelson is one of the more moderate and reasonable Democrats, and Scott is morally unfit for public office.  I cannot bring myself to vote for someone who, in a deposition, took the Fifth Amendment 75 times.

A political convention cheered, "LOCK HER UP!" about Hillary Clinton.  What should be said about a man who took the Fifth Amendment 75 times in a deposition surrounding an investigation into the most massive Medicare fraud in history, at a company Scott was CEO of?

Now watch Fuzzy voting for Scot in November because he couldn't stomach going against the wishes of his orange God King.

Implies the Democrats have to accept conservatives trying to turn the party into something it is not!

No it doesn't. It just says if you want people to stop supporting Trump, then don't complain when people stop supporting Trump. The guy in question didn't even become a Democrat.

I will say this:  If this guy gets confirmed, we ought to apologize to every nominee for office whose nomination was derailed because they or their spouse hired an illegal alien for a babysitter.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that many of the Bernie supporters are choosing Jim Webb as their second choice? Why anyone would have the most conservative candidate as their second choice behind the most progressive one is beyond me. My guess is that it would have to do with caring more about an aura of "populism" than the actual policy positions of the candidates.

#populism Purple heart in action.

We know that is 2012, Kavanaugh was a public figure and that her family had dealing with Kavanaugh.

You really think she endeavored to determine if the judge in her mom's case (a routine proceeding to rubber stamp a deal made with a bank) happened to be related to someone she knew in high school?

It might have been mentioned, e.g. "We had a Judge Kavanaugh.  Didn't you go to school with her son?"

"Oh yeah, I did."

"Well, she signed the papers that let us keep our house."

"Cool, in a few decades I'll fabricate a story to destroy him."
