I’m not sure being a wealthy “corprotist neoliberal” capitalist automatically makes this guy an HP, as some of my fellow lefties seem to suggest.  I don’t know much about this man, but I do give credit to the (unfortunately rare) Republican who sees what his party has become and speaks out.

You didn't make a generalization. You tied one man's specific behavior explicitly to his religious denomination. Saying the Democrats should do well among the upper middle-class predominantly Jewish suburbs of Philadelphia is one thing. Saying some particular man switched parties because he's a Jew, especially when there is exactly zero evidence from what he gave as his reason or from any other source that his Judaism was a factor, is really obnoxious.

BTW, it's also kind of dumb, considering he's been Jewish and Republican for over 50 years. Not to mention Ohio's only billionaire ( or now perhaps one of its few, I'm not sure). Did he suddenly turn "more Jewish" in the last few weeks, naso?

And again, sharpen your reading comprehension and note he did not become a Democrat. Rather, he left the Republican party out of disgust over Trump and became an independent. So not only is your hypothesis baseless and more than tinged with anti-semitism, it's downright factually incorrect.

Somewhat true. Though I will note my law partner is one of the few self-described socialists I know who came from a downright Hardscrabble background. He was an only child  in rural West Ohio whose mother died when he was not quite 10. His father and he were poor  as he grew up , and then his dad died when he was not quite out of high school. He was raised by neighbors who became a surrogate family. He joined the Army for a stint, got out, married his high school sweetheart , and use the GI bill for college and then Law School. He's now doing well enough that his wife was recently able to quit her job with the library which provided their household with health insurance, and support her and their young son with his wife only coming to our office to work about 15 hours per week. Heck of a guy.

 He's also a hardcore Second Amendment guy with more guns than I see any need to own, but what do I know?
