Alabama has really got to like their chances. Georgia will murder LSU, Ohio will lay waste to Michigan. The only problem being that the committee will be making their final Michigan vs. Alabama decision next week with no further information provided afterwards. I'm afraid they give it to the 1-loss team despite the awful SoS and them being gifted the Illinois win while Alabama had Tennessee stolen. We shall see.

It seems more likely than not that USC loses to either Notre Dame or Oregon (I'll revise that statement in the unlikely event that the Beavers and Bears allow Washington to sneak in.) TCU is a coin flip to lose, depends which Kansas State shows up. As much fun as we've had watching them this season, the Roulette Wheel always feels like it exposes these teams in Round 12 or 13 in heartbreaking fashion (even though in real life, those streaks always bankrupt the player!) Unfortunately, this conclusion will feel more like the Russian game.

I am deeply afraid that the committee puts Clemson over Alabama thanks to a cupcake crown over UNC, especially if Notre Dame is the team that takes down the Trojans, making their loss more palatable despite their lethargic offense.

1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. Clemson
4. Alabama

The playoff that they pretend isn't going to happen. Hopefully Michigan loses by enough that we can get a loveable underdog like Bama in there.

It pains me to say it, but I've believed it since week 1. Ohio is the best team this year. Ohio-Alabama is the title finish we need.

I know I’m pulling a double cross on Harry, but despite whatever doubts I have about Ole Miss, I absolutely do not trust an air raid team in bad rainy weather.

I switch my pick back to Ole Miss

I think that was the most absurd call by college referees I’ve ever seen. There is no world in which Mississippi State should get the ball when it was recovered after the refs blew the play dead by their own admission. AFTER they’d already announced that the whole play was stopped beforehand due to a whistling error.

The rules allow for an immediate and clear recovery after the whistle to stand, which is what happened. (I think? I never heard a whistle on any replay.)

They’d already announced that there was no play to begin with because it was inadvertently whistled dead right at the start!

Yeah, I think they just goofed when they said that.

Matt Rhule deep in negotiations to become the next head coach at Nebraska.

Rhule would be an amazing hire if a deal could be reached here, with his prior reputation of turning around programs at Baylor and Temple.

North Carolina (which is having a bad day in both football and basketball) lost to NC State in double OT when they missed a short FG that would have sent it to a third OT.

Nebraska spoils Iowa's chances at clinching the Big Ten West, beating the Hawkeyes 24-17.

With Iowa's loss, tomorrow's action among the remaining teams in the division to see who among, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Purdue will win the division.

Purdue has the Old Oaken Bucket rivalry game with Indiana in Bloomington, Illinois has their rivalry game with Northwestern in Evanston, and Minnesota and Wisconsin play each other for Paul Bunyan's Axe, meaning the division will like come down to a tie-breaker between Purdue/Illinois and the Minnesota/Wisconsin winner (unless Purdue/Illinois both lose).

After a game that was anything but easy on my stress levels, FSU walks away with a 9-3 season. I believe pretty early in the thread I put my optimistic outcome for the year at 8-4 with some rivalry wins. FSU surpassed that and was competitive in all three losses; 10-2 was very very possible. If Clemson makes it to the playoff FSU probably gets the Orange Bowl. Its been a good year of college football.

Barring some extreme chaos, Clemson isn't making the playoff.

In fact, I'd be willing to bet that the committee puts a two loss Alabama or one loss Ohio State/Michigan (that didn't win the Big Ten) in ahead of an ACC Champion one loss Clemson.

?? Bizarre take, even by your standards — Committee isn't going to keep out a one-loss P5 conference champ for a team that couldn't win their division.
