What is NIKH? They have close to the 3% threshold but I can't find any information about them.

While the lead will narrow as more of Athens get reported it is a clear of rejection of Tsipras. He has to go.

Democratic Patriotic Movement - NIKH. I assume it's a right wing party.

The problem for Syriza is that the repeat election will be in a month and a half. They are basically stuck with him until then.

I believe this is the final projection, just released, by the Electoral Commission:

41.0% ND, 146 seats
20.0% Syriza, 71
11.7% PASOK, 42
  7.2% KKE, 25
  4.5% EL, 16
  2.9% NIKH
  2.8% PE
  2.5% MeRA25
  7.4% Others

But, I'm not sure. I not fluent in Greek, to say the least.

Is a ND-EL coalition possible? Although there is very little incentive for ND to form a coalition when they can get a majority of their own in July.

Not a chance. Mitsotakis won't touch with a ten foot pole a far-right, ultra-religious, pro-Russia party.

Yeah, after this massive result, I would guess that both ND and PASOK would want an election repeat. PASOK can even see themselves surpassing Syriza after these results.

Syriza is only leading in Rodopi. The rest is a sea of blue:

It seems that ND is floating the idea to do a repeat election on 25 June. In just over a month. We'll see.

What a terrible result for Syriza, which may lose every single district to ND. Also not a great day for Greek opinion polls.

Is Rodopi the only possible exception because it's where the remaining Muslim Turks live?

Yes. These people are heavily influenced by the local Turkish consulate and it's obvious that the Erdogan regime preferred Tsipras who was more conciliatory towards them.

To be fair to polling companies, there were a lot of undecideds during the last days of the campaign. I would say that Tsipras "ridiculous" remarks in the last few days may had been the nail in the coffin, and that may have swayed tons of voters to scrap Syriza.

I didn't post all this time because I was due to be on the count, I wanted to be impartial as one should be.

What happened in the last 2 weeks that changed the results so much , even though the implosion of the opposition was starting to become apparent?

I'll tell you now that the count has finished:

Gypsies and Turks.

There was a SYRIZA MP who was caught yesterday trying to buy votes in Gypsy camps.

Self Employed make about 30% of Greek workers.

When you say publicly on TV days before an election that you plan to double their taxes you are going to tank.

The majority of the population lives on subsidence levels with poor public services and high taxes, any tax increase is believed to go into the coffers of the Politicians instead towards public services.

Tsipras tanked on the poorest places.

Also there was complete indifference by the public.

I returned from the count to see that everyone in the neighbourhood was watching the European Basketball Final match, no one cared about the elections, something very odd for Greece.

I was probably the only one in the whole neighbourhood who cared.

Here's the platform of one lf its candidates, it's mostly a bunch of right wing culture warrior grievance issues, which basically goes: would you trust those atheists, tr*nnies, homos, homewreckers and national traitors?

https://hellas.postsen.com/local/322774/Article-by-Konstantinos-Baliakas-candidate-for-parliament-in-the-PE-Kozanis-with-the-Democratic-Patriotic-Movement-NIKI-in-relation-to-the-basic-principles-of-the-party--Daily-update-for.html

Their official platform is largely the same, complaining about spiritual, biological and territorial (ie national) self destruction https://nikh.gr/i-niki

About the same as last time.

Tsipras just said that there is no time to change before the next elections.
His refusal to resign might doom SYRIZA to 3rd.
