If this is video of the same destroyed rail cars, and it is recent, then that rail line was not re-opened yesterday. The stupid Russians probably took some old video of a train repair, and used it as if they had quickly repaired the rail line on the bridge.

President Vladimir V. Putin on Sunday accused Ukraine of being behind the attack on the bridge linking Crimea to Russia, calling it an act of terrorism.

“There is no doubt that this is a terrorist attack aimed at destroying the critically important civilian infrastructure of the Russian Federation,” Mr. Putin said, summing up the attack in just two sentences. “The authors, performers, and customers are the secret services of Ukraine.”

The comments were made in a meeting with Aleksandr I. Bastrykin, the leader of the Investigative Committee, Russia’s main federal criminal investigative body. A short transcript of the exchange was posted on the Kremlin website and footage of them talking was broadcast on state-run television’s nightly news programs.

After the president’s remarks were published, a reporter from the state-run Russian news outlet RIA Novosti asked Mr. Putin’s spokesman whether the “terrorist attack” fell within the category under Russian defense doctrine that allowed for a nuclear response.

“No,” the spokesman, Dmitri S. Peskov, responded, according to the outlet.

According to Russia, a truck exploded on the bridge as a train pulling seven fuel tanks was passing on a parallel rail and ignited it. If that timing was deliberate, it would suggest either luck or a fair degree of sophistication to the operation.

Mr. Bastrykin told Mr. Putin that the explosive-laden truck’s route to reach the bridge had been established: It had transited through Bulgaria, Armenia, Georgia, the Russian-controlled Georgian territory of North Ossetia and then into Krasnodar, the region of Russia linked to the Crimean Peninsula.

Perhaps one of the more interesting items from this story, was the training of Ukrainian soldiers NOW...

On Sunday, the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag reported the European Union has agreed to train a further 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers in EU countries, starting with Germany and Poland.

UK has been training Ukrainian soldiers for a bit, as I have previously posted, but very welcome news to see that other EU allies are pitching in to provide high quality military training, while meanwhile sends a bunch of untrained grunts to the front lines with no guns nor ammo.

After two days of deliberation Putin has decided to retaliate for the Kerch bridge bombing by launching dozens to hundreds of missiles at cities across Ukraine, apparently prioritizing government buildings, power plants and infrastructure. I guess this is what he meant by "striking decision making centers".
