Warnock's final margin might seem a tad underwhelming...but imagine if someone in 2016 told you these would be the results the next the seat was up for a full term.
Yeah.
There'd be jubiliation.

"Atlanta is the cultural leader of the United States." - Rachel Maddow

Um... I mean it's a great city and all but New York still exists among other things.
Yeah, silly comment by Rachel.

A tenth of DeKalb comes in and instantaneously vaporizes Walker's lead.

Based mostly on DeKalb, this is a sugar high. Warnock can still win, but this narrative that Walker was DOA in a runoff scenario was always BS.

In 2004 George Bush won Rockdale County with 60% of the vote. Warnock is winning it tonight with 75% of the vote.

GOOD LORD

I'm assuming this is a suburban county? Good lord, what an absolutely insane shift in coalitions...

Yep, just southeast of DeKalb

A bit sad but Spalding County basically didn't swing. However, the county really hasn't been taken into metro Atlanta's influence yet, the the black suburbs aren't spilling into it yet, but it's def on the list in teh future.

I don't think we should read too much into swings from November 2022 to December 2022, except in that they help us guess who wins tonight.

Warnock *can* win. Interesting phrasing.

75% for Warnock in Rockdale is just insane. It gave Biden less than 70% of the vote.

For all the freak-out Warnock +3 actually seems more in reach than Walker + anything.

I will say if there's one place I could see a non negligible amount of first round Libertarian, second round Warnock voters, it would be the biggest college town in the state.

Everyone in the media and myself keep mixing up "Warnock" and "Walker." I swear it's not because they are black! It's because their names both begin with "Wa" and have two similarish-sounding syllables.

Um... I mean it's a great city and all but New York still exists among other things.

No sun belt city has ever been a cultural leader along any dimension. The only exception is LA, which is a cultural leader in a bad way.

I wonder if Warnock will hold onto Fayette.  Warnock +10 with 69% reporting.
