Tossup/Tilt R if he's the nominee. He only lost by 1.2% against Ossoff.

I was hoping GA secretary of state Raffensperger would run but I guess this guy is probably Trumpy enough that it would stop MTG from running on the Patriot party or whatever, so he's probably a good choice for the GOP.

There's no chance in hell he'd win the primary.

If I am 70+ and extremely rich af, I would be chilling and enjoying life lol instead of running for a gruelling senate campaign

Me too. Perdue must not be satisfied with how much he's already profited off COVID.

That's interesting. As others have stated, maybe Collins is running for Governor rather than Senate. I still expect Warnock to lose, though. The polls will have him leading by a lot, but he'll end up losing by a little.

He doesn't seem like a top-tier candidate to me. I don't think he'll be the nominee.

What do you guys think it would say about the Georgia trends if Warnock just barely lost?

I think it would say that there was just enough of an out of party bump to pull an R ahead, but that it would likely be the last GOP victory for a while and the state would still be clearly trending Democratic in the future.

Well, if not for voter suppression, I'd call it equivalent to CO-SEN 2014.

Wow, I really thought he would run. I guess the primary is Herschel Walker's if he wants it.

Warnock and Ossoff are both popular in GA, according to new AJC poll.

Favorabilities:
Jon Ossoff: 48/40 (+8)
Raphael Warnock: 48/41 (+7)
Joe Biden: 50/46 (+4)
Stacey Abrams: 48/45 (+3)
Brian Kemp: 44/47 (-3)
Donald Trump: 45/50 (-5)

Polling, you say? Are we still playing this game?

Walker has a good chance at winning, as does any Republican. This is Georgia in a Biden midterm.

Something tells me Herschel Walker's not gonna be the next Senator from Georgia y'all.

This doesn't matter, electorally speaking. Scandals only matter when Democrats are involved. Warnock is still an underdog, since this is a red wave cycle.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Any Republican has a good chance at beating Warnock. This is a Biden midterm.

Who are the serious Republicans in this race?

Also Warnock appears to be quite popular in GA.

Doesn't matter if the GOP is able to overturn the election.

Herschel Walker is a stronger candidate than Gary Black. Tilt R.

No persuadable voter cares about this. Still Tilt R.

I still expect Walker to prevail, since Trump's endorsement overrides all the local Republicans'.

Walker doesn't need to convert a single college-educated white voter in order to win, he just needs enough Democrats to stay home/be suppressed. Given that this is a Biden midterm, I expect a combination of the two to happen.

I don't think football matters too much in the outcome of elections. That said, Lean R.

Walker will probably only get one term, but he's strongly favored this year thanks to the environment.

None of these scandals are likely to matter this year. I used to think that McCaskill to Hawley was a huge downgrade, and then Doug Jones lost to Tommy Tuberville. But neither downgrade can compare to Warnock -> Walker.

Tilt R -> Lean R. The media holds Democrats to an impossible standard, and Republicans to no standard at all.

I hope he does debate Warnock. Which is exactly why the people propping him up most likely won't let him.
