My high school guitar teacher once said that there was a Beatles song to rebut every common overgeneralized criticism of them. Come to think of it, Oz and Piero Scaruffi have pretty similar vibes...
All the "Fetterman can't win a race off Twitter dunks alone, nyuk nyuk nyuk" people aren't paying attention. His campaign is firing on all cylinders.
Maybe his luck will run out now or later, but underestimating John Fetterman has been a favourite pastime of internet politics nerds for six years now.

With the new POS (R) poll, 538 now gives Fetterman a 68 in 100 chance of winning. That's slightly more than Ron Johnson, who has a 67 in 100 chance. LOL

From what I can tell, it looks like they haven't added it yet? Unless mine is just not refreshing fast enough

Yup, true. I thought they did because there wasn't another PA poll the last few days and Fetterman was at 65 in 100 not too long ago.

The overall Senate odds for the D's have been creeping up lately, probably due to their improvement in the GCB, which will influence the individual races as well.

WAIT - this is even WORSE!

Not only did the Newsmax person say he was at Wegmans (this is wrong, but whatever), Dr. Oz was given TWICE to rebutt and say "wait, i actually was at a Redners for clarification" - he never does! I still don't think to this day he even realizes what store he was actually in and I guess still thinks he was at a Wegmans??

honestly unbelievable. this man was given TWO more chances to get the damn store right (again, a local chain primarily based in PA) and he still couldn't do it

Wasn't the Wegner's crudité ad from several months ago, well before the primary?  Why is it suddenly blowing up now?

Edit: Yes, it was on April 5th.

Yep, it looks like umichvoter on Twitter randomly found it and posted it, and then it went viral. I've been locked into this race and never saw the original in April, so I assume most didn't either and just saw it for the first time this week.

I'm trying to recall where the heck I saw it back then, as it apparently was never posted in this thread.

What is even Oz's message? What would he say when someone asks him "why are you running for the Senate?" Maybe he should start there and try not to put his foot in his mouth every time he talks.

No it's not. The article is wrong. I've lived here my whole life and never heard anyone call it that.
Then I take it you've never been to the Town Hall Deli in South Orange of the Millburn Deli in Millburn.

The cope from the GOP in this article is just.... chefs kiss

They have to all be completely lying or willfully ignorant if they don't understand that that video is about a lot more than just literally a veggie tray

I think the most devastating thing about the crudites video is that he claims to be in a "Wegner's" grocery store, which is a chain that does not exist. He basically merged the names of two chains, "Redner's" which is a popular chain in Pennsylvania and "Wegmans" which is an upscale chain in New Jersey that he's probably more used to. Furthermore this is even more embarrassing than if he had simply called it a "Wegmans" because that has a bunch of locations in the Philly suburbs as well, so he proved that not only is he not familiar with the Pennsylvania chain but also that he seems unaware that Wegmans exist in Pennsylvania as well.

Question from someone who doesn't follow the race. Is Fetterman receiving any support from the party establishment? He doesn't look like their type.

A lot.

Endorsed by Biden, Shapiro, Casey, Warren, Peters, the entire PA Dem Congressional Delegation, and even Ben Nelson.

Along with groups like Dem Majority For Israel, DSCC, J Street, NARAL, and the rest of the establishment ones.

Very heavy support. The Philly machine organized against him in the primary on ~electability~ grounds, but has united around the nominee.

The only ones who seem to be bitter over Fetterman are the terminally Online types on both sides of the spectrum.

While he is not the only weak candidate by the GOP this cycle he seems to be doing by far the worst. Why is that? At face value, he seems like a smooth talker, and a much better speaker and down to earth compared to Hershel Walker, or Blake Masters. He isn't consistently engaged in all the stolen election stuff and could come off as a generic R. Honestly on his Facebook and twitter he is attempting to push the right button issues with energy, crime, and inflation, but it doesn't appear to be resonating in PA.

Why is his campaign doing so much worse?

I don't have an answer for Georgia, because on paper Warnock should be running away with it because he is a strong candidate and Walker is a complete lunatic...

But with Arizona, Masters can at the very least act like a normal person. The stuff he says is dangerous, but he doesn't embarrass himself.

Everything about him is a terrible fit for a state like Pennsylvania while Fetterman is a near perfect fit.

Also, Fetterman has ancestral Dems to fall back on, whereas Kelly and Warnock do not.

Because a Muslim TV personality quack doctor, with no political experience, who doesn't even live in the state he is running is just about the worst person to appeal to the GOP base and to run in a general election against a competent opponent like Fetterman who has been able to eat his crudite lunch while recovering from a stroke.

I mean Trump was a former T.V personality who never lived in PA, had no political experience,  and said crazy things, and PA was a swing state in which he was a GREAT fit for. He did better than any GOP presidential  nominee over the last 30 years in PA.
