Gas prices stable/trending downward (about 15 cents in metro Atlanta over last few weeks), reducing concerns on another lockdown, and his generally positive response to the tornado devastation look to be factors for the uptick in Biden's overall approval rating.

Comments:

1. FoX News does good polling. You may hate the spin that the Propaganda Channel puts on news, but all in all its polls are objective.

2. Typically around this time approval numbers for a President or any other elected pol are down about 6.5% from the electoral result. Administrating and legislating are not as easy as they look. If President Biden is down roughly 4% from his electoral result three years from now,  then he will be in great shape in a run for re-election, at least from a political standpoint.

3. The gap in preference between R and D has a muting factor: the level of gerrymandering that ensures a relatively small number of competitive seats. If the gain is where Republicans are already strong, then R gains will be unusually slow. Republicans picked off the low-hanging fruit in 2020.

4. We have yet to see the full effect of full disclosure of any Congressional involvement in the Putsch. I can say nothing about the effective level and breadth of complicity by Republican pols, but that is likely to have the masking effect of gerrymandering. The R seats of any such pols are likely to be R holds.

Still bad, but good to see Biden’s approvals unquestionably swinging back up for once.

Biden is gonna wind up exactly at where he was in 2020 51/46 because he won 80M/74 and we haven't changed much and Gavin Newsom won exactly the same amount as he won in 2020

Biden doesn't have to be at 50% until Election night Anyways

80M votes is a tall order but this is the map we're working with now

The Child tax credit, Biden Nominees and the Israeli Iron Dome were all objected to by Hawley, Rubio and Rand Paul

I don't see why we should fund Iron Dome ANYWAYS

This is a clear example of all GOPers voting 'hurting' while Dems/iNdies split between 'Hurt' and 'No difference'

Not to mention, the "supply chain crisis" that, while not "unreal", being blown completely out of proportion to what is happening on the ground.

We went from the press screaming in October "will you get your presents by Christmas???" and it being December 15th with Amazon still offering 2-day Prime shipping.

I once again am calling for the voting rights of West Virginia to be removed and only restorable with a vote that is subject to the filibuster.

Sinema just reinterated and killed any chance of Voting Rights passing in 2022, D's are gonna go into 2022 handicapped but surely if Biden Approvals improve they can mount a blue wave

I guess it's judicial Nomination for the rest of the yr they're voting on now

This guy drives me up a wall.

Yes Josh, completely ignore the more important fact that the exact same poll shows Biden's approval rating greatly improving.

They definitely changed the methodology since 2020 polls were off but Biden is between 45/50 percent Approvals

All the Ds care about are Act blue donations and I stopped donating obviously they have changed the methodology of these polls since 2020

Rick Scott was on Fox News talking about how the Rs are gonna win both the H and Senate

The Rs have raised 8.4M dollars for the Senate

Ipsos Core Political Data (weekly), Dec. 15-17, 1004 adults

Approve 48 (nc)
Disapprove 46 (-2)

I believe this is Biden's best showing in this poll since August.

I wonder whether these polls even mean much. Most people disapproving of him would answer "hurt" anyway, no matter what he did. The same was probably true for Trump in reverse as well.

Biden won 50/45 so any poll showing him  within that range means that he hasn't lost that much support ANYWAYS we're just down in NV which will probably comeback to us

I believe that Biden’s approval is merely stabilizing somewhere between the high thirties and low to mid forties or so. Fairly similar to Trump’s, actually.

.

Biden doesn't have to be at 50% until Election day but unlike Trump he had a Memorial for COVID victims and Trump got COVID and lost the debates because he knew a week before the debates he had COVID that's why Biden will be at 50% on Election night he takes Covid seriously, the Rs want to repeal the Covid Protoco land mask mandates and DeSantis wants to fire Fauci, Biden said he will keep Fauci

Yeah, they have been close in averages of polls on RCP (excluding LongRoom “unskewing” operations like 538).

Biden has messed up the Border he won't even sell the material that Fed stop using the old wall to Greg Abbott building a state wall
Beto is to the left of Joe Biden on the Border Wall, that's why he is down 15 pts and Demings is down 19 she reminds people of Harris

That's why DeSantis and Abbott are gonna win, why CCM, SISOLAK and Mark Kelly are so vulnerable and in NV we're losing

Biden wants a to pass Voting Rights why don't he restart the Border Wall, he doesn't want to do, illegals are overwhelming Border Patrol Agents and Mcconnell said yesterday with that attitude he Biden will be a 1T Prez

McConneol said yesterday that the reason why Rick Scott RSCC CHAIRMAN won't release Rs to vote for Voting Rights is part of reason, Biden won't enforce the Wall his standing would greatly improve if he kept building the Wall

Trump’s approvals on average were -6 to -15 or so. That is similar to Biden’s current levels of approval. And I won’t even get into the way certain polls are skewed.

Incidentally, I am also of the belief that the takes about Biden’s “rebound” will age rather poorly due to the all of the structural problems still remaining, but we shall see.

The only polls in the last two weeks showing Biden behind by double digits are all Rasmussen.  All the other polls have him somewhere in -4 to -8.

Trump was consistently -15 or lower in every single poll at this point in his presidency, and the only time he got up to where Biden is now was very briefly after he survived impeachment.
