I think it's a combination of a lot of things for the networks right now. They clearly got spooked by Arizona being closer than the early Fox and AP projections might have indicated, but they also are not willing to call any states where Trump can still theoretically win, even if for all intents and purposes it's impossible, which IMO is a clear attempt to appease Trump himself.

For an uninformed German: Who is this?

And to add to what everybody else is saying: there are places in Georgia where you NEVER ever mention General Sherman if you care about your health.

I doubt people care all that much nowadays. They'd be in more trouble by positively mentioning Obama or Hillary in much of the state.

Media collusion! What bad (or sick) people.

What a cynical comment by Shapiro. But I agree with it.

I haven't posted since last night, but I have been keeping up with what's going on and am oh so enthralled to see a blue Georgia that is also growing bluer as the hours go by. Where's RFKFan? I expected him to be posting a lot about his well-earned vindication. Georgia being an oasis of blue (Atlas Talk Elections red), should it remain that way when the results are certified, kind of resembles how Minnesota was in 2016, in reverse.

Biden's expanding leads in Nevada and Pennsylvania are not really surprising though.

I still have my fingers crossed that Arizona will hold out for Biden. I want that 306-232 irony map! I mean, if Trump can't win Georgia, can he really win Arizona? I know that the demographics aren't entirely similar, but the trends kind of are.

The calls are made by decision desks not network executives. I really don't think the stats guys are thinking about Trump's reaction if they make a call.

Biden may or may not address the nation tonight at 8pm. I think Nevada and Arizona could get called tomorrow so it might be worth waiting.

I guarantee you they know damn well that Biden has won and they can’t make it official until the Executive Vice President of Whatever says so.

In fact, this led to ill feeling between Atlanta and Savannah that has echoes to this day.  Atlanta resisted Sherman's armies fiercely and finally fell after a long siege, while Savannah offered to surrender peacefully as Sherman approached, in exchange for the city being spared.  (Sherman, being no dummy, took this offer.)

That's not true though. They've all reiterated many times each election that the decision desk is completely independent.

Can the media PLEASE call.the race before 8pm so Biden can give his victory speech? I'd REALLY like to go into the weekend with the election "over", Trump's tantrums and legal challenges notwithstanding.

Do we know how many votes are left in Georgia? Because the number disappeared on that tracking site.

Bob Casey is right we're headed towards a 100k Biden lead in PA, Trump has no shot. He's done.

Katie Glueck: Biden had planned to address the nation tonight, but there are indications he may well not do so until the race is called. Things are fluid here in Wilmington!

While I get why AP wont call PA, I'm not sure why everyone else wont.

I wish we could have seen that happen on election night and been spared all the unnecessary suspense (which really only lasted a day or so). Thanks a lot, Pennsylvania GOP!

That aside, Biden emphasizing his connection to the state really did seem to pay off.
