Endorsing Greitens would be one of the biggest mistakes Trump has made or will ever make.

He just endorsed Eric

There is only one guy named Eric running in the Republican primary, amiright?

No, both Greitens and Schmitt are named Eric!  Talk about bothsidesism...

If either of them wins, Trump will claim he endorsed the winner (and pushed him to victory).

Greitens is the only Republican nominee who could possibly lose this race (unfortunately even then, it would still be unlikely). There's no way he actually wins the primary, right?

Maybe Trump’s trying to say that the real Eric was inside us all along?

Maybe he meant Eric Trump.

It doesn't matter. We aren't winning this even with Greitens as the GOP nominee. Maybe, just maybe in a Democratic wave year with that match-up an upset could have happened though.

That's why it's actually preferable to have Schmitt. If a Republican has to basically be the Senator-elect from getting through the primary it's better for it to be anyone but Greitens. It's a real Katie Britt-Mo Brooks situation. I'm sure he'll suck, but he spares Missouri of having the worst Senate delegation ever, unless he ends up worse than expected.

It's like in a sitcom when the main character accidentally asks two people to the prom.

Why do I have a feeling the vagueness was intentional, to make it seem like he endorsed the winner no matter if it's Schmitt or Greitens? It'd definitely be on brand for him.

Because it was.

Either that or really for Eric Trump anyway.

Our reality is a cliched joke.

This is like the sharpie hurricane thing all over again.

People really want this human punchline to be President again?

I have to admit, it is entertaining. A small, sick part of me actually kind of missed nonsense like this.

Trump would be great as a sitcom president for this reason, just atrocious as an ACTUAL president.

I used to find him funny. Hell, I will shamefully admit that I used to watch 'The Celebrity Apprentice.' But I just can't find anything amusing about him anymore. He has ruined so much.
