If you don't think it's helpful, why are you posting tweets from randoms?  She also lists her location as "Occupied Ho-Chunk Land".
This tweet sounds borderline disabled.

Jesus Christ, just say "people". "Birthing bodies" appeals to no one.

Agreed, but no idea why anyone who's ostensibly trans-inclusive would be offended by the sentiment of including trans people who can get pregnant.

The sentiment is great, if that's what the sentiment is actually about, but the execution just riles up hateful people while dehumanizing anyone who can get pregnant.

This is the funniest thing I've seen so far today by a lot.

Also agree with these:
Jesus Christ, just say "people". "Birthing bodies" appeals to no one.
THIS DOESN'T HELP, PLEASE SHUT THE F[INKS] UP WITH THIS TYPE OF LANGUAGE AT A TIME LIKE THIS

The language is dumb, but acting like it's going to do any meaningful damage to the pro-choice cause is laughable. The internet isn't real life.

The people who use this kind of language are pretty out-of-touch (don't disagree with the sentiment at all, but they should just say 'people') but the people who freak out about it are similarly out-of-touch.

I actually do agree with the perspective that "birthing bodies" is very a dehumanizing term, but I just can't help but notice that the loudest critics seem to be more bothered by the thought of inclusivity than the term itself.

Sometimes, when discourse around this stuff gets particularly bad, I like to ask my very normie liberal girlfriend her opinion just so I can hear her say "I think it's nice to try and be inclusive since lots of people can get pregnant and they have rights too" even though I already know that's what she's going to say. I regret having eaten from the tree of knowledge, I want to return to ignorant bliss

"Bodies" is like the creepiest and least appealing term to use like that.

That wouldn't be inclusive to trans men or AFAB non-binary people.

Oh damn well. We're gonna have to sacrifice a tad bit of inclusivity to properly message this very important, winning issue.

If you really, really want to make sure you're inclusive of trans people, why not just say "pregnant people"?  Why do we need to invent an almost deliberately alienating new term for this?

If you think trans men and AFAB non-binary people can't get pregnant, you're denying biology.

Again, I would just go with "people" in this case, since there's clearly no way that a non-pregnant person could have an abortion, so there's no need to specify that they're pregnant.

I have no idea what the purpose of using "bodies" is, but I'm fairly confident that it isn't more trans-inclusive than "people". "Birthing" is just an awkward term, especially when we're talking about abortion where the main point is that you aren't giving birth.

how the hell did we get from discussing abortion to arguing over the proper terminology of what to call someone who is trans and pregnant?
