This is only a rumor I'm personally hearing from GOP insiders I know and trust, but said sources that tell me this are generally pretty reliable. People online are saying this too and certain tabloids are hyping this up, but again- I trust the insider sources, and not the tabloids.

Apparently he could specifically  specifically announce this on Hannity in the next few days. I still wouldn't get too cocky to bet on it, but it honestly seems ever more likely by each passing day.

However, Enes Kanter went on Tucker recently and he is hardly a populist national conservative. You overestimate the political implications of someone appearing on a certain news anchor's show.

I'm still shocked that Dr. Oz is a Republican and that he has political ambitions.

He's a very moderate Republican who has been friends with every GOP nominee since Bush, although he has many Democratic friends too. I don't know why he'd have political ambitions, but I can see why he would.

He will also probably receive the Trump endorsement, even if he isn't super Trumpian himself.
I wouldn't be surprised if he and Trump had connections from his time in reality TV.

You won't be surprised any time soon, because they do.

Which Senate seat would he be running for?

Ok, I could see him running justifying a ratings change. Dr. Oz would have a good chance at really bringing in the star power that could swing votes here.

He could be a strong candidate, but I've literally never heard of what his political views are, apart from some extremely vague statements about his love for Teddy Roosevelt from 15-20 years ago.

I wonder about what kind of campaign he'd run.

I do as well. Dr. Oz as a GOP senate candidate would be something to watch for sure.
I'd guess he'd have a huge amount of leeway to decide what tack he'd adopt, as long as he has enough red meat in there to keep conservative base voters on side. But I'm not a GOPer and I may as well be throwing darts in the dark.

Honestly, Oz is one of the most electable potential/current candidates the GOP could run in Pennsylvania, and yes I’m aware he’s a carpetbagger.

He just seems like a total wildcard to me. I could see him catching fire and getting the nomination like Trump did in 2016, but he could also be a complete flop like Caitlyn Jenner in the recall.

Isn't he pro-choice? That could be a dealbreaker to primary voters.

Trump was also pro-choice before becoming president. The keyword is was.

I'd like to imagine that Dr Oz would change his position on this if he's actually serious about running, as he's probably well aware that the GOP primary electorate in Pennsylvania is staunchly conservative.

100% this. I don't even know if he's actually running or if these rumors are hogwash, but the insiders I know are generally fairly reliable even if they are hardly oracles.

He should run in New Jersey, where he lives. He doesn't live in PA.

He should run against Bob Menendez in 2024, he could give the NJGOP their first Senate win since 1972.

I'd like to agree with you, but if Oz announces that run on Fox anytime soon.... I don't think he runs against corrupt Bob.

True...he should announce he is spending the next 2 years running against Menendez in NJ in 2024 and he will endorse some other Pennsylvania Republican.

Oz can beat Menendez 52%-48% in deep blue NJ and hold a Republican to 10 points in the presidential if Oz is on the 2024 slate in NJ...

Oz would flip Bergen, Middlesex and romp in South Jersey.

The national one. I think you misunderstood the thread to mean he's running for the Pennsylvania Senate, but I believe he's running for Toomey's seat in the US Senate.

I was asking the state. I knew it was for US Senate. I don't think Dr. Oz would waste his time running for the state senate.

Do you think Oz is the best nominee the NJ Republicans could run? I think Tinton Falls mayor Vito Perillo would be a great pick.

B-tier candidate. As long as he runs a competent campaign the seat is his.

If Oz campaigns as a Trumpist America First candidate like Walker, I will support him. Not if he's a weak neocon McConnell cuck who just wants tax cuts.

Do you honestly believe with Josh Shapiro running that Fetterman is gonna lose, Shapiro raising so much money in PA
No one watches Dr OZ he isn't Dr Phil caliber candidate

Rs are in denial about Fetterman and Shapiro the type of money they raised and Dr OZ  doesn't appeal to females like Dr Phil plse the seat is his there's no polling
