Establishment Republican Party will save itself here by cutting Trump loose.
I hope Trump attacks them for it.
The party split needs to happen, I am already salivating.

This is my hope too.  I hope it costs them the two GA senate seats.  We are now seeing that Dems can win Georgia.

At what point does George W. Bush come out and say enough is enough?

He won't because of George P. Bush and his future political career... but he should.

Please. My state is on the verge of finally pulling itself together. Let me erase the existence of GPB from my mind just for a bit longer.

It’s gettin’ real.

I just wanna say, as a gay man, I'm looking forward to future updates.

I’m here, I’m gay (albeit with a bi-cycle) and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Trump needs to prove it with real evidence or he needs to shut up. He doesn't have the right to attack our democracy and to divide this country. I'll say the same thing about the far left and their behavior this summer but Trump is ripping this country apart.

Prove it or I'll probably never vote for a Trump in the future. Idiots.

Wow, a self-redeeming Trump supporter.

Maybe this country's future isn't so bleak after all...

Hold them to it in 2024 when a Trump will likely be running again.

Oh, I will, don't worry about it.

There is a lot of sound and fury coming out of the Trump campaign about the state of the vote count. Much of it is false and not worth repeating. I talked to Amelia about how the campaign’s lawsuits have gone so far.

Does anyone else find the 538 team rather annoying, aside from Nate?

Trump needs to accept that he has most likely lost and when the numbers likely show that he has he needs to concede so we can have an orderly transition.

Good.  It's really reckless, and most certainly will serve to encourage some segment of those people to become more unhinged and violent.

What if Trump cheated, so he knows he should have won, but because he’s losing it’s clear the Democrats also cheated.

What then?

If Biden does manage to win it I think that could be great for turnout in the run-offs. It's a big deal and will make more Georgians think that their vote matters. Pair that with some serious investment by the Democratic Party, probably getting Obama down there to campaign, and we may pull it off. There is at least hope for it, and that's enough for me.

I remember watching McCain's speech live. I know he had some neocon views that I completely disagree with, not to mention other policy areas. But, at least I could know he was a decent man who was in politics to advocate positions that he truly believed were good for the country. Madison Cawthorn's...interesting "take that Libs!" tweet following his election, further reinforced my feeling McCain was a type politician that's quickly fading away as younger generations enter politics. Not that I blame my generation completely, they've grown up in a completely polarized country. Increased polarization was in progress long before Millennials were born.

Biden just needs to win them like 11.5K-7.5K to be 500 over

I like Claire Malone, but that's mostly based on a couple of cheesy jokes from the elections podcast in the 2018 cycle that I don't even remember now.

It won't happen. Republicans are atrociously dumb, they don't understand healthcare or taxes, but they aren't stupid. They aren't going to self destruct like that. Mitch will make Trump understand the best way to continue blocking common sense Democratic policies is to put forth a United front.

Obviously I think a lot of his base still believes his allegations of widespread fraud, but I think that even this is a little too desperate for some of his supporters who are starting to become disillusioned with him. The final nail in the coffin is when he'll either concede pathetically or refuse to concede despite it being clear he has lost.

The final nail will probably be GOP leaders/elected officials call on him to concede. If Pat Toomey is acknowledging that Trump is likely to lose, then he likely does not have the votes for a legislative coup in PA, or even the support from state GOP leadership for it to happen. It also means he might not have five SCOTUS votes.

Nice to meet you! 2016 made doomers of many of us, but I'm glad the blue wave is finally materializing Smiley
