Is it just me or is the NYT results page having a tough night? Some obvious errors and their estimated votes left have been way off.

In other news the Walker’s lowest numbers are in the Atlanta area and it’s suburbs, this could be a bad sign for him come November

NYT added in the Webb votes but mistakenly put the race as a whole at 100% in, even though Zapata and Duval are still counting. LMAO.

Oof didn't realize Webb still had votes outstanding. Probably curtains for Cisneros unless something very weird happens.

Clyburn, Pelosi, and all the other gerontocrats running the Democratic Party really need to be thrown out on their ancient butts.

Lol to the narrative that a Black R does great with black voters by default. I think part of his poor performance in Atlanta could be the fact it was an open primary and there could've been some Dem/Indies voting against him

Gotta say the GOP was quite clever with the new TX-28. Even though teh district is technically slightly bluer, it really factions the Dem communities between rural RGV and liberal parts of San Antonio, both of which generally have poor turnout.

Kinda werid how much of Hispanic San Antonio the district takes in while still being competative in a GE.

While I support Cuellar and am celebrating his victory, I do agree with this statement as a general matter. Clyburn, Pelosi, and Hoyer are old, out of touch, and need to go. Even many committee chairs fall in the same category, like the 83 year old Maxine Waters, the 74 year old Jerry Nadler, the 69 year old Nydia Velazquez, the 76 year old Carolyn Maloney, and the 75 year old Bobby Scott.

Good news is new neutral NY maps will rid of either Nadler or Maloney and Velazquez technically no longer lives in her district but should be ok.

So I initially supported McBath due to her being Protestant but now I learned that despite her name Bordeaux is actually Protestant too. But ah well, she still sucked based on what was said about her being with Gottheimer.

What's the recount laws in Texas?

In order for a recount to be conducted, a petition MUST state a valid ground under the Code.
A petition may be filed if the difference between the number of votes received by the petitioner and number of votes received by the person who was elected or is entitled to a place on the runoff election ballot is less than 10% of the number of votes received by the person elected or entitled to a place on the runoff ballot (same formula for votes for and against a measure);

   Example:

Jane Doe

2000

 John Doe

1850

difference

150

10% of 2000 is 200, therefore, John may request a recount;

A petition may be filed if the number of votes received by ALL candidates in the race (not just the top vote-getters) is less than 1000;
A petition may be filed if an election judge swears that he or she counted paper ballots incorrectly (this must be certified by the Secretary of State and it does not happen very often); or
No ground for a petition is required for a recount of electronic system results. [Sec. 212.0241].

What's the recount laws in Texas?

Applying the above formula:

Henry Cuellar*
23,735   +50.5%50.5%
Jessica Cisneros
23,234

Difference: 501

23,735 * .1 = 2,373.5

So yes, Cisneros can request one. Historically speaking it would be rare for a recount to overturn a 500 vote difference in a congressional race though.

This is going to be super close

So I gotta choose between two Trump flunkies for my next House representative...great.

Brooks has gotten a second chance...boo.

And Lockdown Ivey won without a runoff, though her opponents were pretty bad.

Just think - all of this never would've happened had both Trump and Perdue got 0.3% more of the vote in November 2020.

 - Perdue would've won outright, he'd still be Senator today - and McConnell would still be majority leader.
 - Trump would've won Georgia, meaning no hissy fit with Kemp or Raffensburger to "find" votes.
 - And yet, Kemp curbstomped Perdue and Raffensburger won anyway.
