Yep, it's that time again! 2022 Primaries are taking place across the country!

Schedule: https://www.thegreenpapers.com/G22/events.phtml?format=chronological

This thread will be for general coverage and discussion of the primary results as they come in or as primaries are approaching. Analysis and GE Discussion should be continued on another thread after a couple days or so have elapsed since the primary. This will function as an all-encompassing primary coverage thread - i.e. feel free to discuss gubernatorial and row office primaries if they are being held this year in a given state as well as congressional stuff.

Poll Closing Times for the Next Primary:

All calls on grand finale night begin at 8 ET. Some NH precincts may close at 7 ET.

JUMP TO PAST COVERAGE:

This section will provide helpful navigation throughout the thread as the cycle goes on, as a means of letting people quickly go to the point in the thread they wish to catch up on or reference.

The 2022 election season will begin! I'm so hyped!
I'm really interested in how powerful anti-establishment forces on the left and right end up being, as it could have huge signs for how primaries such as PA-SEN, OH-SEN and AZ-SEN will go.

I'm sure most people are focused on the congressional and gubernatorial/attorney general primaries, but are there any State Senate/State House primaries which are interesting or we should keep an eye on?

Maybe the 62nd district? That’s where Shelley Luther is running.

What does everyone think about Cisneros? I really feel like she's gonna beat Cuellar this time.

I agree, especially after the FBI raid, and I believe a lot more of San Antonio was drawn into the district this time which I think should benefit Cisneros. Definitely a big one to watch, but has potential to go to a runoff.

Some basic information.

Per: https://www.politics1.com/tx.htm

There are 223 Democrats and Republicans running for the U.S House.  32 are incumbents, so 191 are non-incumbents.

122 Republican non incumbents, 92 men and 30 women, 49 'visible minority' (about 40%)
69 Democratic  non incumbents, 37 men and 32 women, 44 'visible minority.'

19 of the 32 incumbents are facing primary challenges. Obviously due to the redistricting, the term 'incumbent' is a bit looser this time.

There hasn't been any polling done, which honestly surprises me. I hope it's a runoff.

Actually I'll rephrase this a bit. She'll absolutely come in a distant third beneath Cisneros and Cuellar, but could do well enough to prevent either one from getting 50%, meaning Cisneros and Cuellar head to the May 24th runoff.

And if that's the case, who's favored then?

Cuellar probably benefits the most since his base is older voters more likely to vote in a runoff but IDK if they'll be as willing to turn out for him after the FBI raid.

Im very interested in the results of this race and in the districts with Greg Cesar and Jessica Mason.
I think and hope Cisneros narrowly pulls it off tonight. I think when you lose an election as narrowly as she did just like Marie Newman it helps you win a rematch. Im hoping here in CA David Kim and Angelica Duenas can win their rematches.
This is gonna be one interesting night!

Majority of the vote is early votes and that usually drops quick. If a race is real close though it takes a while to count election day votes.

Results should be coming in very soon, as polls have now closed in Texas (- El Paso).

EDIT: Results are starting to come through. O'Rourke leading BIG in Texas counties with over half of the vote in.
