Yep, it's that time again! 2022 Primaries are taking place across the country!

Schedule: https://www.thegreenpapers.com/G22/events.phtml?format=chronological

This thread will be for general coverage and discussion of the primary results as they come in or as primaries are approaching. Analysis and GE Discussion should be continued on another thread after a couple days or so have elapsed since the primary. This will function as an all-encompassing primary coverage thread - i.e. feel free to discuss gubernatorial and row office primaries if they are being held this year in a given state as well as congressional stuff.

Poll Closing Times for the Next Primary:

All calls on grand finale night begin at 8 ET. Some NH precincts may close at 7 ET.

JUMP TO PAST COVERAGE:

This section will provide helpful navigation throughout the thread as the cycle goes on, as a means of letting people quickly go to the point in the thread they wish to catch up on or reference.

Are early votes counted first or last? Because if early votes are counted first, Van Taylor is essentially guaranteed to be put in a runoff and probably Luttrell too. If not, they've won.

Generally first.

I know there's currently less than 5% of precincts reporting there right now, but the 28th District's primary is way too close for comfort right now.

NYT has over half the vote reporting there? Still incredibly tight though

DDHQ is showing much more reporting than other sites. Is DDHQ just that much ahead of everyone or do they estimate less outstanding votes than others?

I think it's a bit of both.

Small part of it is NYT does not declare 100% in anymore, >95% is the highest they go.

DDHQ shows TX-08 at only 89% in with Luttrell at 52.1%. The only ballots left to count according to them come from Harris County, where Luttrell is performing terribly. If this is right there's a chance this could still be a runoff. However all the other sites are showing near 100% of the vote in. Why the discrepancy?

Possibly they stopped updating at some point last night.

Upon looking further that doesn't seem to be true. DDHQ has more votes counted than other sites. They might be predicting more votes left than others?

Maybe...honestly I just don't really trust them. I know they rely on their own sources rather than the 'pool' that the real news networks use, which just sort of seems to open them [DDHQ] up to error. They've also made some pretty stunning wrong calls in the past. I'd recommend just not paying attention to whatever they put out.
