Penn State, as I've said before, exists to ruin things for people who are happy. Today that meant the full house of Penn State fans and not Michigan.

The way Indiana's played this year might be what holds Cincinnati out of the playoff. The Bearcats needed both Notre Dame and Indiana to look good this year. They've gotten that from the Fighting Irish, but the Hoosiers have looked awful all season.

Florida's 70-52 win over Samford had a combined total number of points of 122. That's just two scores (with two point conversions), away from being a push on double the over.

Being 16 points away from something is not close.

I wondered for a while if they might beat the FBS record for total points (146 in an OT game (6 OT in fact), 137 in a regulation game), although that wouldn't really have applied because Samford is in FCS.

FSU preparing to throw the game to Miami after going up 17-0 in the first quarter. Bad. At least recruiting looks good.

Old Dominion currently leads Florida Atlantic by the rather mundane score of 20-10.  But at one point during the game they led 4-3.

It's kinda crazy that Mississippi State is collectively only a single possession (8 pts) from being an 8-1 team in serious contention for the playoff

Old Dominion currently leads Florida Atlantic by the rather mundane score of 20-10.  But at one point during the game they led 4-3.

ODU won 30-16.  In addition to the two early safeties, they also got a 2-point defensive PAT on a FAU TD and a 2-point conversion on their own last TD.  So they had all three types of 2-point scores in the same game.  I wonder if that's ever happened before.

Can't wait for Texas to be the bottom-feeder of the SEC West.

Texas-Mizzou rivalry for 7th place gonna be lit. Both can pine for the days of their hotly contested rivalries with the Jayhawks.

Kansas was a 31-point underdog, making their victory the largest upset ever in a Big 12 conference game.

LL is going to start building that team up to respectable.

My guess at what the committee will do after this week's games:

1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. Oregon
4. Ohio State

Just Missed: Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Michigan, Michigan State, UTSA.

One of these things is not like the others.  UTSA won't even be close to contention.

Coaches Poll is out. Normally I wouldn't bother to post it but I decided otherwise when I saw the hilarious

11. Oklahoma
13. Baylor

And of course for those curious the top goes Georgia/Bama/Cinci/THE Ohio State with Oregon/Notre Dame on the outside looking in followed by the Michigans. Reminder that this poll constituted 1/3rd of the official rankings less than a decade ago.
