A wild one in the MAC as Bowling Green upset Buffalo 56-44.  A total of 49 points were scored in the fourth quarter.

Pitt should seriously leave the ACC after that travesty of a game.

That was one of the wildest couple of minutes I've ever seen.  With about two minutes left in the half, Georgia led 3-0 and Florida had the ball.  At the half, it's 24-0 Georgia following three Florida turnovers that all led to Georgia TDs.

The Florida Georgia score is 24-0 at halftime. If you aren’t watching don’t get fooled into thinking that the Georgia offense is some kind of powerhouse. They’ve looked mediocre. At best. It was a combination of absolutely boneheaded decisions by Florida (going for it on 4th and 13 on the 40 and leaving the end zone on the interception) as well as superhuman Georgia Defense plays (that batted interception!) that caused this to not go into the half at 3-0.

Pitt, Michigan, Florida, Florida State. Every team I rooted for today lost in a painful manner. I suffer.

It's sadly probably time for a coaching change at TCU....

With the early games done, Terry leads with 11-4, I'm at 10-5, Donerail is 9-6, and everyone else is 8-7.

F**k (and I cannot emphasize this enough) the University of Miami. Now all I can do is hope my Scarlet and Gray boys give the Pedos a well-deserved thrashing.

I've had a dislike for Miami ever since they won against Tulane due to being given a fifth down late in a 1972 game, and refused to forfeit it afterward despite calls for them to do so.

OTOH, I have to give them some props for once winning a game 31-4, which has to be one of the oddest scores ever.  (Four points is rare enough as it is, but to make it even weirder, both safeties were caused by the Miami center snapping the ball over their punter's head and out of the back of the end zone.)

On a 100-yard kickoff return for a TD after SMU had tied it with about 30 seconds left!

Hard to imagine a worse set of outcomes than today. Thanks to Michigan State and Mississippi State for dulling the full force of the blow. Former did a lot!

With the first official CFP rankings coming out this week, here are 538's current probabilities to make the playoff (teams with at least 10% chance listed):

Georgia 79%
Alabama 51%
Oklahoma 50%
Ohio State 44%
Cincinnati 39%
Oregon 23%
Michigan State 21%
Oklahoma State 16%
Notre Dame 13%
Wake Forest 13%
Baylor 12%
Michigan 10%

Odds for teams if they win out (teams with >50% chance listed):

Georgia >99%
Alabama >99%
Oklahoma >99%
Michigan State >99%
Ohio State 98%
Auburn 98%
Okla. State 97%
Baylor 96%
Wake Forest 93%
Oregon 91%
Cincinnati 73%
Minnesota 60%
Michigan 57%

Obviously some of these are mutually exclusive, since no more than one team per conference can win out. Note that Notre Dame isn't in the second list; winning out only gets it to a 32% chance of making the playoff.

#6 Michigan @ #8 Michigan State Noon EDT FOX (I'm no fool. I don't think Michigan is way better than Michigan State. Frankly I think McNamara is not the right qb for this team and things are going to get a lot tougher for him this second half of the season. But Harbaugh gets the boys ready to play in East Lansing. I think they can eek out a tough one here. Have to have at least a little faith.

If you're a Michigan fan, then I'm sorry. But as a Spartan, it was an electric time to be in East Lansing, I spent some time at Cedar Villages for MSU's most famous extra curricular activities, and I'm thankful that the game wasn't at night because it would have been absolute chaos.

WEEK TEN

Saturday, November 6th

Army "@" Air Force [at Arlington, TX]
#10 Wake Forest @ North Carolina — Wake has been a fun Cinderella story but, as with Iowa, that sort of thing tends to collapse sooner or later
Liberty @ #15 Ole Miss
#23 SMU @ Memphis
Georgia Tech @ Miami (FL)
Temple @ East Carolina
UL Monroe @ Texas State
Tulsa @ #2 Cincinnati — inexplicable that Gameday is here instead of El Paso, mostly because Cincy should flatten Tulsa
#5 Michigan State @ Purdue
#11 Oklahoma State @ West Virginia
#12 Auburn @ #13 Texas A&M
#14 Baylor @ TCU — have to wonder how long Patterson can keep this job
#22 Penn State @ Maryland
South Alabama @ Troy
Mississippi State @ Arkansas
Marshall @ Florida Atlantic
Tennessee @ #18 Kentucky
Boise State @ #25 Fresno State
Old Dominion @ Florida International
#7 Oregon @ Washington — I was exposed to Washington football last night and, although they won, they are... wow. Not a great situation up there.
Clemson @ Louisville
Texas @ Iowa State
San José State @ Nevada
#16 UTSA @ UTEP
USC @ Arizona State

Does this mean you have to quarantine for 14 days?

If I were on the Playoff Committee, here's what my rankings would look like:

1. Georgia
2. Michigan State
3. Cincinnati
4. Alabama

Just out: Ohio State, Oregon, Oklahoma, SMU, Wake Forest.

My guess as to who TCU will look at to replace Gary Patterson:

University of Louisiana Head Coach Bill Napier

UTSA Head Coach Jeff Traylor

SMU Head Coach Sonny Dykes

Former LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron

Wake Forest Head Coach Dave Clawson
