I would love to know what sportsbooks had Utah as the favorite, because coming into that game, Oregon was the better team.
All of them, but here's one example:

WEEK 12 RESULTS

We had another new winner as Illiniwek took first place with 18-7. (This means I'm the only one who hasn't won a week. OTOH, I did take second this week.)  Full results:

18 Illiniwek
17 GeorgiaModerate
16 Dereich, Donerail, ExtremeRepublican, NY Express, Terry
15 JGibson

There were 5 unanimous picks:

Ohio State-Michigan State
Oklahoma-Iowa State
Alabama-Arkansas
Wisconsin-Nebraska
Auburn-South Carolina (wrong)

And 7 games with a single dissenter:

Western Kentucky-Florida Atlantic
Penn State-Rutgers
Tulane-South Florida
Cincinnati-SMU
UTSA-UAB
Marshall-Charlotte
Stanford-Cal (dissenter was right)

There was no change in the overall standings as the top three had the same score this week. Year to date (299 games):

193   Donerail
191   Dereich
186   NY Express
185   GeorgiaModerate
181   Terry
180   ExtremeR
164   Illiniwek
161   Jgibson
92   Dingo Joe
24   Orwell

Maybe your conference should stop blocking the 12-team playoff for no reason other than spite.

You could have a Pac-12 team playing for the title every year rather than 25% of the years.

Dan Mullen has been fired as Head Coach at Florida.

My guess at possible replacements for Mullen are:

Cincinnati Head Coach Luke Fickell
Baylor Head Coach Dave Aranda
Oregon Head Coach Mario Cristobal
Kentucky Head Coach Mark Stoops
Louisiana Head Coach Billy Napier
Michigan State Head Coach Mel Tucker

Cincinnati Head Coach Luke Fickell
Baylor Head Coach Dave Aranda
Oregon Head Coach Mario Cristobal
Kentucky Head Coach Mark Stoops
Louisiana Head Coach Billy Napier
Michigan State Head Coach Mel Tucker

Mullen’s biggest problem was recruiting. Most of these names have no noteworthy experience recruiting in Florida and some have none in the south at large.

Dan Mullen walked away from a fanbase that worshipped him to get fired after 4 years that were better collectively than his best 4 years at his previous job.

Florida's a better job than any of those schools, except maybe Oregon. The circumstances might not be right for all of them — Tucker just signed a big extension and Napier's passed on half the SEC already — but it is definitely an upgrade for everyone outside of maybe... twenty? coaches in the country.

And that twenty is more like a dozen right now, because a bunch of those jobs are open and at least a couple more will open soon (thank you Alabama vaxx mandate). Which complicates things a good bit — if you're Cristobal, for example, would you take Florida or Miami or stay at Oregon? — but someone is gonna want this job.

Ohio State jumps to #2 in the AP poll, closely followed by Alabama and Cincinnati.  The coaches poll has Alabama #2 and Ohio State #3.  Georgia remains a unanimous #1 in both polls.

Also getting fired today, Troy Head coach Chip Lindsay.

No clue as to who will replace Lindsay.

However, I'll guess a high profile assistant at a power five school, like Georgia Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken or Alabama Offensive Line Coach Doug Marrone.

He'll never do it, but Dan Mullen would kill it at Troy. He hates recruiting and prefers to find diamonds in the rough and develop them, and there's plenty in that area that can get missed by the SEC programs recruiting nationally.

Mississippi State fans need to stop pining over Dan Mullen, who is one of the most overrated coaches in college football.  He can't recruit or win games that matter (Mullen's record against ranked opponents is abysmal for a "Top 10" coach.)  Mullen took the Bulldogs as far as he could after 9 seasons in Starkville, and it was in the best interest of the program he left when he did.

Why would that be a good thing? Expanded playoffs suck, they'd be awful for everyone, four teams is already far too many.
