R Yes Votes:

Blunt (R-MO)
Burr (R-NC)
Capito (R-WV)
Cassidy (R-LA)
Collins (R-ME)
Cramer (R-ND)
Crapo (R-ID)
Fischer (R-NE)
Graham (R-SC)
Grassley (R-IA)
Hoeven (R-ND)
McConnell (R-KY)
Murkowski (R-AK)
Portman (R-OH)
Risch (R-ID)
Romney (R-UT)
Sullivan (R-AK)
Tillis (R-NC)
Wicker (R-MS)

Why didn't Rubio voted for it?

Isn't he supposed to be running for re-election?

He probably just wants to run for President again, which means he has to appease the ultra partisan Trump supporters by opposing Biden at every step.

Was this 550 billion or 1.3 trillion

~$1.3T in infrastructure spending overall: ~$550B in new spending, the remainder a re-authorization of previous spending.

Congratulations to Biden and the Democrats.

So how about that public option?

What an overwhelming news day, and one that gas been mostly positive (aside from Ron Kind retiring, which is kind of enough to ruin it).

I'm pleasantly surprised that this many GOP Senators voted for it. The only one I can't wrap my mind around is Toomey voting against it. Why? He had nothing to lose by voting for it like most of his retiring colleagues. I would say that Sasse is a surprise too, but he has always been "moderate" only in the sense of never caring much for Trump, personally. And speaking of Trump it cannot be said enough of the added benefit of this bill rubbing salt, vinegar, and lemon juice in his wounds. All those infrastructure weeks and Biden actually managed to succeed at passing a bill involving it within seven months.

Toomey is very much a deficit hawk when it doesn't come to giving tax cuts to billionaires. Sasse is not a moderate in any sense, he's just not part of the cult.

It passed the Senate. It's not law. Pelosi won't let it pass without a reconciliation bill she likes in tandem. So it will be a bit of a wait, maybe a long wait.

I found this speech from Toomey the other day, looks like he's to the right of Trump on economics. Regardless, the 7 Republicans who voted to convict are automatically better than the other 43-defending democracy and the rule of law (even though they only did it once Trump had already lost and given Democrats a trifecta) has to be the bottom line.

To vote on the $3.5T budget resolution blueprint for reconciliation. She's not putting the bipartisan bill up for a House vote, though, 'til sometime in Oct. once the reconciliation package has been finalized & passed in its final version by the Senate.

The government already spends 600 billion every five years from the original highway act, the bill was most recently authorized in 2015

Last year during COVID, it was supposed to be reauthorized but was just given a one year authorization

Demcorats boosted it to 750 billion every five years. The extra 550 billion is a one time thing

(Trillion sounds nice)

Biden still has in the 3.5 trillion plan

-universal pre-k
-free community college
-national paid leave
-child care credit for next 10 years
-lower Medicare age to 60
-Dental, Vision, Hearing under Medicare
-Obamacare subsidies making plans cheaper
-price caps on drugs
-PRO Union Act
-Immigration Reform (unknown plan)

If Biden can pass these things and get a public option in FY 2023 bill, he'll have the most successful presidency since LBJ

If he somehow bans gerrymandering, increase teacher pay, and raises minimum wage he'll be the greatest president in 60 years. He'll be FDR level, not LBJ level

Who needs a hearing aid and you still have to pay for the frames of you want special frames which cost ,300, it just cover the exam and regular glasses

As far as dental cosmetic surgery isn't covered implants, or Endo crowns, where the root is out and they have to drill the bone

I just had a dental exam, some crowns won't fit unless you drill the bone and root is calsified, that won't be covered in Dentical

I am nitpicking because D's are the poor people party not rich people

We aren't gonna get another Stimulus it's obvious or Extended Unemployment but if we have a Wave, Afro Americans will get Reparations due to Asian and Latinos while Rs have controlled Congress 16/20 yrs and Section 8 vouchers isn't a State programs it's a Federal knew very well locals let Latinos and Asians jump over Blacks due to Dreamers that's why we have 500K Homeless Blks and everyone else 200K Nationwide and most are in Cali due to warm weather that fled Winter in Rust belt

Reparations will repair that 5/7K checks from IRS SHEILA JACKSON LEE PROMISES IN ADDITIONAL TO DC STATEHOOD IF Ryan, Jackson or Beasley win with 54/46 Senate with the Trifecta, If we only get 52/48 Senate we will have the same problem with Tester with Sinema and Manchin, he doesn't want to rid the Senate of Filibuster, that's why Ds have targeted OH and NC

Happy it passed but it’s not enough and unfortunately the reconciliation bill won’t include more hard infrastructure funding. Our rail and air systems are woefully underfunded. Our cities are so far behind the rest of the world

The budget resolution passed overnight, 50-49 party line. That's not the legislation. Once the House passes it too they can use reconciliation to pass it.

Wait, I just woke up, you mean the bigger reconciliation bill?

Because I thought the whole point of this other one was that it wouldn’t require reconciliation

They passed the ~1 trillion infrastructure bill. House just has to pass it. The budget resolution is a 3.5 trillion framework for the budget. House needs to pass that and then the Senate can pass the reconciliation bill that enacts it. That needs reconciliation because Republicans don't support it.

Schumer hopes the text of the 3.5 trillion dollar bill ready by September 15th

The House will have most likely have voted for it by than and sent it to the senate.

Assuming that by September 15 that the house passes it and the text is ready, its a high chance it'll be passed by October 1st or soon after

This is ideal. The budget needs to be passed by October 1st. They could pass a tempoary budget measure though to buy time

Most budgets aren't pass until December-January,

The sooner the better. In my opinion, the American people need a solid year to see the benefits of infrastructure and reconciliation if Democrats have any chance at the midterms

Am I the only one who thinks that the House holding the infrastructure bill hostage while negotiating the reconciliation bill is a really bad idea?

We need to get the money flowing as soon as possible.

Also, Manchin doesn't seem like the type that would bow to pressure.

I get what you mean, but this is pretty quick for a bill of this size.
