I’m PRETTY sure he was joking there. I don’t think even Rudy is THAT nuts.

It's definitely from Game of Thrones. Maybe he was joking about the documentary part.

Mods please delete the Bohemian Rhapsody crap.  This isn't Reddit.

Also Game of Thrones is about a "fictitious medieval England."  Westeros is literally England, the Lannisters vs. Starks is derived from the War of the Roses, and there are other direct parallels to major events in English history.  GRRM has talked about this before, I believe.

So actually Giuliani is just a superfan and history buff.

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. I don’t think he’s nuts enough to believe it’s actually a non-fiction documentary. Probably...

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Bohemian Rhapsody. The song is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Islamic theology most of the lyrics will go over a typical listener’s head. There's also Freddie’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from mid-20th century absurdist literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these lyrics, to realise that they're not just fun- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Bohemian Rhapsody truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the profoundness in Freddie’s existential catchphrase "Mamma mia let me go!” which itself is a cryptic reference to Albert Camus’s The Stranger. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Freddie Mercury’s genius wit unfolds itself on their stereos. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Queen tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

Many left-wing twitter users are saying it's the real face of America.
They consider it as the worst country ever in the history of mankind.
Their solution is f America to be dismantled, forgotten, erased forever.

Some leftifts’ hatred for the country is distressing

This is a perfect encapsulation of the threat this country is facing. It is coming from both the left and the right and I hope reasonable people on both sides (like 80% of us) will recognize that. Let's crack down on all these freaks and end this sad episode of American history.
When rose twitter invades the Capitol to install Tulsi Gabbard, this both sides stuff will be apt.

I don't understand why members of the House need to be fined for refusing to walk through metal detectors.

Just deny entry.  Can they walk onto a plane without going thru one?

I would immediately investigate her and how she treated children. With a lot of these crazy types a subset of them are just projecting.

“It’s a shame?” LOL no.

Anyway, this reminds me, if he’s convicted will Trump also lose the honor of having a state funeral, flags at half-staff, etc. after he dies? I hope so. He doesn’t deserve any of that. And I sure as hell hope it means he can’t be buried at Arlington.

I don't understand why members of the House need to be fined for refusing to walk through metal detectors.

It's the only real way to enforce such a rule, since Congress members have special privileges in regards to access to the floor of their chamber that can't be revoked, and can never be denied access to the chamber to vote. They can be denied boarding to an airplane for refusing to pass through a metal detector, but can't be denied access to the House floor. But the rules do allow them to be fined.

Just deny entry.  Can they walk onto a plane without going thru one?

They are lawfully elected members of a national legislature, not customers conducting a transaction.

It also seems like a petty tyranny, which is why I asked about it. What conceivable safety benefit is there to scanning the bodies of every member?

It's to stop unhinged (and possibly supportive of an insurrection) members with guns. Boebert should had to think before bringing guns in the House and supporting rebels. The mandatory scanner is the consequence of her actions and she must assume her responsability, as a conservative.

I somewhat agree with this, but violence has happened on the House floor in the past between members. Given how crazy some of these new people are, I honestly wouldn't put it past them to lose their cool and start waving a gun around.

if the ppl in congress don’t want to walk thru a metal detector they can always resign their office and give up all the benefits that come along with it 🤷

if they want to reap the rewards of being in congress they need to play by the rules so if the capitol decides to install a metal detector then oh well i guess they gotta walk thru or else they don’t get in just like the rest of us!

From the images I saw, they are standard metal detectors. They do not "scan the bodies" of elected officials.

How the hell did she even get her job, in the first place?
Do school districts not do thorough background checks?

So members of Congress can be trusted to vote on every piece of legislation affecting the country, but not to refrain from shooting their colleagues?

In the aggregate they vote on legislation, individually they can't be trusted, no.
