I see no need for him to be out & about while the GOP primary is still a clown show that hasn't yet proven capable of formally declaring his competition. So long as the GOP's messiness is what everybody's focused on, he can take the good 4 weeks that he needs to recover. There's no reason for him to be parading around in public during recovery right now.

Doesn’t sound angry to me at all. Fetterman’s statement sounded sheepish in tone like he was afraid to admit that he hadn’t gone to the doctor, but he’s also using this as a moment to tell others to get checked out. It’s a good moment to lead by example.

Well there never has been a candidate for president with as horrible favorable ratings as Clinton, and the story fed people’s pre-constructed perceptions of her.

Like you did in Michigan and four other states in the primary? When superdelegates effectively overturned the will of the people in those states and gave Hillary more delegates anyway? Because I'm fairly sure that's how it went.

My worry here isn't that Fetterman will lose votes from voters worried about his heart condition.  It's that Fetterman won't be able to campaign very much, or that he'll die in office and we'll have a special election to replace him instead of a full six-year term.

I don't think he should be replaced or anything but anyone acting like this isn't a big deal is kidding themselves and Fetterman needs to be more candid about what's up.  Just hiding in his house for weeks and then releasing a note that says "yeah I have a serious condition and haven't seen a doctor about it for five years, but trust me everything's fine" isn't exactly reassuring.
