I'll say this - the margin is shrinking in a hurry and there's plenty of overall vote left.  Maybe it's not over after all, and then of course if there's 50-100K absentee votes out, who knows?

This is cope.

literally how

Wasserman called it.

To be fair, he's not the be-all end-all. I think Youngkin won too but Wasserman was wrong about the NYC primary. Even though it was an entirely different circumstance he was still wrong.

When a major network or two calls it, then I'll believe it. All I see is plenty of vote left in more blue counties and possibly 50-100K absentee ballots out.

I've been at church tonight.  I can see that Youngkin is going to win, but what's the big story?  Is it suburban reversion, urban tightening, or just North Korea-like rural margins?

Some have written off Virginia as a safe Dem state; I saw some suggestions last week that Youngkin winning would be reminiscent of Republicans winning Governorships in MA, MD, VT, etc. I think the fact that you're seeing down-ballot Republicans doing so well tonight, now having a strong probability of flipping the House, suggests otherwise. Especially when you look at HD-75.

I said youngkin would win for a long time but I also feel like that 2024 its likely Dem. Not safe not lean.

Democrats are actually holding on to Nova.I never saw Biden margins as realistic

but.. democrats really need to do better with the WWC.

Not gonna happen. Their reps consistently block economically egalitarian policies. So what they want is race/culture war BS. And the Democratic Party is not going to become Tucker Carlson Lite.

The comedy in Virginia and New Jersey have outdone the absolute tragedy in Buffalo and Seattle in making me happily drink my cheap vodka tonight.

What happened in Seattle?
Progressives underperforming due to Covid raising their fixed campaigning costs mainly

Or maybe it's just nobody likes the s--t you are selling and are sick of it, even in a place like Seattle.

Lol I put 50 dollars on PredictIt for TMac winning and I know this won't happen at this point.

He just overperformed his benchmarks pretty much everywhere

The story is that Loudon County pulled a Miami-Dade and then Youngkin ran ahead of Trump pretty much everywhere else.

How many votes are left at this point?  13% or so of the vote to go and be tallied but how much is that?

Remember, when the extra ballots are found at 3 AM the election wasn't stolen, it was fortified to protect democracy from fascism and besides, you bigots deserved it.

Impressive, given they were D+35 in the 2017 VA-GOV election. Caveat emptor though that they are a small segment in VA, so the margin of error will be pretty large there.

I'm not taking NSV's narratives. I'm just saying it's warranted they haven't called the race. Maybe there is still a window for McAuliffe.

Anyone have news on the Seattle city attorney race?
Have polls even closed there? It is the West Coast after all.

Not yet.... 38 minutes to go

As I am typing this right now, Youngkin barely has a 130K lead over T.M.A. and 13% of the vote still needs to be counted.
