Who the heck was the Jewish Deep South Senator in the 1880s?
Senator Benjamin Jonas from Louisiana (1879-1885)

And David Levy Yulee in Florida even before that.

He flipped two previously deep red states (AZ and GA) blue and both will have two Democratic senators, giving us a trifecta.

If there was any doubt Trump was a failed president for his party before, it's gone now. Don't be surprised if they start to lose faith and look elsewhere.

Biden was supposed to win in a 2008 style landslide. A 4.5 point win was a semi disappointment for Biden. The CNN exit polls had Trump at 50% approval in 2020, which is terrifying.

Likely 17,000 overseas and military ballots still to come in before Friday, according to Raffensperger. Not likely to matter but still interesting.

If November taught me anything, the number probably isn't anywhere close to 17,000 ballots. Most won't get returned.

Yes, you are certainly correct. I should have said 17,000 max

I wonder how Daniel Blackman is doing. I can't figure out what's going on in that race.

What makes some of you so sure that Ossoff will win? I can see this going to the wire and its not a done deal yet.

It’s a simple calculus.

Georgia is blue for the foreseeable future unless Dem's nominate a toxic candidate.  If Ossoff can beat Perdue there is really no excuse for Dems not to win in the state from now on.

It really is the new Virginia!

Eat your heart out, North Carolina!

I want Stacey Abrams to have Mike Madigan-type control over the party as DNC chair. She will turn this ship around. Please God let it happen!

Trump has really done a number on the confidence of our nations decision desks.

Not just decision desks, political observers of all degrees.

The "Senate Republicans will prevent Ossoff/Warnock from being seated" take has already emerged here in the last 30 minutes. Folks won't believe election results even when they've been certified

I mean, unless you think Perdue is suddenly going to net votes from mail votes disproportionately from Atlanta, he’s going lose. The best chance Perdue has is if there’s some major tabulation error.

How can people still cite CNN exit polls as if they are in any way not garbage after tonight?

I'm more disappointed its my own state than anything else atm.  Also the fact that we are now perma-blue is disgusting.

I need to vomit.

As the most moderate Democrat in a Senate controlled by Dems by just 1 vote, he'll have huge influence over what bills can be passed.

Fox isn't even bothering to cover the election anymore. The election graphics are up, but they've pivoted to guns.
