I wonder if at least 2% of Trump/Republican voters will end up voting for Ossoff/Warnock, due to Stimulus checks.

Polling indicated a potential shift due to the Stimulus Check issue.  If so- this 2% could mark a big shift & would lead exit polls to be off slightly.

If Warnock and Ossoff are elected will their bond be strong enough to rejuvenate Jimmy Carter as Rey and Ben’s did for the Emperor in Rise of Skywalker?

Wait, so is THAT what happened in that movie???

They never really explained it...

Anyone saying anything except this is a tossup and we won't know anything for hours is an idiot. And that's been true for 2 months.

Also, whichever way this goes, the ultraconfident on each side who thought this was a lock are still all wrong. Just because a 50-50 race came up the way you thought it would doesn't mean it was ever 100-0 or even 70-30.

Just taking a look at those [MSM org] numbers, I have to say the numbers are looking really [negative-sounding adjective] for [political party]. The changes in turnout among [demographic group] since the [year] election make it basically impossible for [other political party] to lose unless [first political party] can match that with gains among [other demographic group]. Anecdotally, my friends in [silly southern-sounding name] in [prominent 19th century slavery/Confederacy supporter] County said that turnout seemed pretty heavy at their precinct and most of their neighbors support [candidate]. That being said, [prominent political figure]'s recent tweet saying that [offensive statement] might have made them change their minds at the last minute.

This isn't a tossup. Republicans are clearly favored due to turnout.

If you want a piping hot take to post later, here's the #List depending on results:

- With Trump out of the executive office, former GOP voters return to the GOP. GA is a Red state after all.
- The runoff was designed to keep minority-backed candidates from power. The GOP will win until Dems get 50%+1 in November.
- Atlanta is adding new and more diverse voters every day. GA is a second VA and is only going to get more Democratic.
- The GOP's decision to indulge Trump's post-election antics have made some of the GOP base into nonvoters. Why bother participating if the count is rigged and your vote doesn't matter?

Not predicting a winner but gun to my head: the Atlanta suburbs will be a bit more Republican than they were for Trump in November.

Just because a 70-30 race came up close doesn't mean it was ever 50-50. Your assertion that it's a tossup is no more valid than someone else's assertion that it's not.

Are all votes gonna be tallied by tonight? Or with mail and early voters it’ll drag into the next few days

CNN just said four Republican-leaning counties are having to extend voting hours due to long lines.

Yes, but there's never been a good reason to ever call this anything but a tossup. And the same was true in GA in November.

Watched Fox for a second to get their exits:

Direction of the Country? 36% right direction / 64% wrong direction

Worried about Perdue/Loeffler insider stock trading? 56% yes / 44% no

Most important issue?
Coronavirus 43%
Economy/Jobs 27%
Healthcare 8%
Racism 8%

Perdue’s support of Trump? 44% too much, 9% too little, 47% right amount
Loeffler’s support of Trump? 47% too much, 9% too little, 44% right amount

Ossoff trust worthy & honest: 50/50
Perdue trust worthy & honest: 46/54

Warnock trust worthy & honest: 52/48
Loeffler trust worthy & honest: 44/56

Trump’s handling of 2020 election results: 44% approve / 56% disapprove
Raffensberger’s handling of 2020 election results: 59% approve / 41% disapprove

Confident votes were counted accurately in 2020 election? 62% yes / 38% no

It's because of technical issues, not long lines.

You don't extend due to long lines.

That doesn't happen? You let everyone vote, but you don't extend the hours

Bet on the republicans. If they win you win the bet. But if they lose you get $2k checks so it’s a win either way

In general it's a clever thing to bet against a team/candidate/party that you want to win. You 'win' either way in a sense.

I believe you. If they did, I genuinely missed it. I walked back into the room just as John King was finishing up at the wall.

I am watching CNN and it said specifically that the time was extended because of technical issues earlier in the day.

Didn't know Fox/AP was doing exit polls for tonight. They are typically better than the Edison ones that CNN, NBC, et al. use.

I apologize. That is my mistake and misunderstanding.
