Yeah I expect Biden to take the lead in Georgia but there'll be a recount so it won't be called. Still a 10k-20k lead is unlikely to be erased.

Even if Philly has "only" 170k votes left, that's probably enough for at least a 140k lead for Biden which would reduce Trump's margin to about 26k. Plenty left elsewhere to erase that. Biden probably does better in Pennsylvania than Wisconsin and Michigan.

Philly, Allegheny, Bucks, Lehigh combined net about 170k for Biden by my calcs. Biden probably gains around 70k from the rest of the state

Every instinct everyone had about this election was wrong, wow.

Called it almost two years ago!

Hearing a rumor that NV is holding off on releasing the vote count until later today because the GOP SOS didn't want to be responsible giving the 270 votes to Biden.

Seems like whenever Trump is on the ballot, all bets are off.

I guess that's a good sign for 2022. Knock on wood.

How did she hold on in 2018 when all other Nevada Republicans lost?

Hot take: in the end, COVID changed next to nothing.

Agreed. The pandemic only intensified partisan polarization and deepened the loyalty of Trump's base to him, while increasing the determination of the Democratic base to get him out. It's clear from these election results that this country is split virtually 50/50 between those who despise Trump and those who support him.

It's extremely likely that the control of the Senate will hinge on the runoffs in Georgia.

The advertising/fundraising is going to be insane.

The biggest shifts weren't by region, race, age, or any of that.  It was education.  The GOP is quickly turning into the party of dummies.

I saw it on a blind item celebrity gossip account myself earlier today, not sure where the post saw it. In my opinion, it's mostly trash. They had a dumb slow process and they are sticking to it, regardless of margin. If anything if the republican SOS cared about the optics, he would count because it's the one chance Trump has to get back in the game (but not really with PA imminent.) If the SOS and counties acted like that, why would Katie Hobbs be going so slow in AZ? Some states just roll differently. It's an easy thing to make up and sound true but it doesn't track.

Actually, COVID changed the way D's voted and perhaps helped them win PA/MI/WI with mail ballots.

I don't remember who said it, but somebody made this exact claim on Twitter a few months ago.

I'll say it before and I'll say it again - holy ticket splitting! Though not quite as much as in PA-01.

Without Covid the dems had nothing. When covid came along they were still going along with the idea that a phone call to a foreign leader should be impeached.

And it's quite clear that covid coming along allowed election rules to change which incentivised a lot of people to vote (who otherwise would not have) if they had to actually attend a polling station.

It's Georgia potentially being the tipping point state for me. I knew GA was a battleground but I'm still so proud. :')

Not sure I can last much longer tonight. This week has taken its toll. My body is failing me. I think I will probably be waking up to big news in AZ and GA. Hoping for the best.

I am planning to immediately begin a 1 month period of hibernation starting immediately upon Biden's inauguration.

A blind item site? Seriously? That's supposed to be where you go to read unsubstantiated assertions about Taylor Swift hooking up with other women, not about Presidential elections. Good on you for not buying it.

And this is precisely why we got the result that we did. You wonder why Trump's supporters are so dead set against Democrats now? It's this kind of condescension that only intensifies their loyalty to him and to Republicans.

Oh great, even the SOS of the state doesn't have any idea.  What is wrong with this country?
