All the music is reaching out to me

Just woke up from a two-hour nap and was welcomed by this peculiar embrace

Someone on my floor died of COVID-19 a few days ago, and someone in my department (albeit, who hasn't been at work since the 12th, and may not even work my shift) was diagnosed with it. It only struck me last night that such details might mean the risk of having caught it myself... Luckily where this person likely works is incessantly sanitized and our floor was actually completely closed Monday in order to undergo even more thorough sanitation, so hopefully the mechanisms we had in place will work. I've had the sniffles and such for two weeks now, but was told it was a sinus infection, and I've only been working from home since Monday, so obviously too soon to tell.

I just realized that I foresaw the Coronavirus as early as 2013. I argued vehemently in a schoolwide debate that the common cold was the most important disease for us to research a cure for, because its economic impact every year was worse than all other viruses. Proof:

1) In high school, I once placed second in a schoolwide debate by successfully arguing that the common cold was worse than AIDS, only to be beaten by Sickle Cell Anemia.

Got assigned to 7 days/week to handle a some key tasks for my department. Bought a bicycle tire pump and a watercolor notebook and paints set on Amazon to compensate. This is the excuse I've needed to drop my stats class.

Also prolly gonna get an ArcGIS personal license finally.

Went for a walk and it started to not only rain but hail and my clothes got absolutely soaked. Maybe this is nature's way of telling me to stay inside...

Just accepted a new job in Seattle working for the state as an antitrust enforcement economist. I'm really excited, even if moving in the near future is going to be quite the challenge.

Well, my V-card has officially been punched.  I met this really sweet tomboyish goth girl at my church and we hit it off really fast.  Technically I still consider myself asexual but having the experience of being loved physically by another human being was just too hard for me to pass up.  I think she may have even cured my social anxiety and autism.  And she even let me take the role of the sub!

All in all, a really great day. Smile

I'm glad for you.

I've also reported you to the authorities for violating social distance.

April Fools.

That was an April Fools Day post in case it needed to be said.  I'm still as confused about my sexuality as ever.

Ed Farmer, play-by-play announcer for the White Sox passed away today.  He was the ultimate south sider.  For myself and many others, nothing says "summer" more than listening to his calls on the radio on a warm day.  I can't believe I'll never hear him call another game.  2020 SUCKS!

Cool.   Are you going to take your watercolors on a bike trip?  Have you done watercolors before?

Watercolors and GIS are both things I plan to do more of in the months ahead.  I have to just stick with QGIS for now.

Well, yesterday I officially got the hell out of dodge and am now back in Seattle with my family for the remainder of this crisis. Fortunately, it only took a little persuading with my job, since we were already working from home. I might post some pictures later of how travelling across the country looks right now. It was utterly surreal.

I had not planned to combine them!

My main intention is to finally be able give what I draw a color palette. When I watch animation, I inevitably ask why I'm not creating a whole 'nother world. Sadly, with mere pen or pencil there's so much lost. I'm not good at watercolor, even when just using it as color filler, but I'd like to think I'm getting a little bit better and once school is over with I'll have more time to actually look into improving myself.

Relevant: Pump and paints arrived yesterday.
