I want to sig this but I'm out of space and you'll find me cold and dead in the ground before I remove any of the current quotes in my sig. Hopefully posting in this thread is an acceptable substitute.

The true issue here is that the mod team is like the pigs in animal farm, feeding us lies about equality and free treatment while opaque decisions come down out of random banning and suspending posters. Several mods need or be removed and mod powers curtailed and the community gets to vote on key forum decisions

Dude this forum is not "Animal Farm"

Message discipline (see context):

Public Colleges and Universities; the top ten majors people major in, are all rather vocational majors or majors that don't neccsarily lend itself to... question the status quo.

How come everyone with "Snow" in front of their names gets banned?

There's a secret clause in the forum TOS about promotion of cocaine use.

Thomas, sure. But as much of a scummy unprincipled political hack Alito is, he's not a criminal worthy of prison to my knowledge.

Funny how BRTD, T'Chenka, and myself have managed to be critical of Israel and not deemed “problematic” over it. Wonder why 🧐

Of course Fat Albert is old school but it's one of many shows that desegregation Gimme a Break, Different Strokes, Webster, Silver Spoons, Fresh Prince of Bel Air. We always think of Protest of Desegregation but it was shows too

Figured I should start a thread where I can collect instances of suspicious voting behavior which would suggest a certification error or fraud.

I'll start with a couple of my own I have noticed over the years (reading threads here!).

Feel free to add to this.

1) Loving County, Texas

In 2000, only 71 people lived in the county, but 212 were registered to vote in the 2000 presidential election. Bush won the county with 124 votes!  This was said to be have been investigated by "Texas rangers" in a Odessa American newspaper article published in February 2001, but I can't find much else on the subject.  Only 80 people cast their ballots in the 2004 presidential election.

The county was also profiled in a Texas Monthly article back in 1997.  There, it was alleged by locals that voter fraud was a widespread issue in the county, especially back in the 1940s and 1950s.

2) Newton County, Arkansas

In the 2008 presidential election, Socialism and Liberation candidate Gloria La Riva "won" a precinct in this county.  The results were certified by the Arkansas Secretary of State.  In reality, this was certainly a tabulation error, and John McCain who got "0 votes" actually won the precinct.

Here are the results.

The Newton County precinct isn't an error, it's just that everyone living there is part of a Buddhist retreat center called Katog Rit'hrod Mountain Retreat Center. It votes for left of center candidates consistently.

This is hilarity via Atlas rather than the hilarity of Atlas, but nevertheless:

Belfast was quite evidently not Ready for Rishi earlier today:

-The Bridge-

'Iceberg, right ahead Sir!'

'So it's not a Woke Blob? Where's the damage?'

'A huge hole in third class, almost exclusively in fact. The ships Post Office is damaged, but they're all currently in the brig. The boiler room is over worked. We tried clapping but to no avail.'

'We all remember those dark days mid voyage. Everyone confined to their rooms. Sea sickness. I have demonstrated that I'm the most effective man to lead this ship. Don't place your trust in someone who has made u-turn after u-turn'

'Sir, you're soaking wet'

-Somewhere in third class-

'If elected your Captain, if you place your trust in me, I promise you I will open these gates.'

'Sir, there's not enough lightboats.'

-beat-

'I know what it's like to be in third class. To aspire towards a better life. But I also understand the tough decisions needed during this moment of nautical crisis. Now is not simply not the time to overwhelm the upper decks '

'But you just said...'

'This is a changed landing party. We have demonstrated that we have changed.'

(audible swimming)

-In the Marconi wireless room-

'Send out a distress signal!'

'Quiet man! Can't you see I have all these messages to send to the New York Times concerning access to women only lifeboat spaces!'

Entirely unintentional hilarity but I need to put this somewhere - one of the Atlas sentences of all time.

I really though would be a left-wing Afrikaner nationalist, not a right wing.

Got to love Laki's list of demands for Antonio to do in order for him to get a "FF" vote as if Antonio cares one iota as to if Laki votes "FF" or not in this poll.

BRTD: Laki left us a list of demands.
Nathan: What are you talking about!? That's his last will and testament! That is not demands!
BRTD: It says at the top "List of Demands"!
Nathan: Well, whatever; it's his wishes and we have to honor them.
BRTD: Oh we do? We do? We have to honor them? Okay, let's see, Nathan. Laki's number one... "The viral 'All Eyes on Rafah' AI picture is to be posted by everywan in Atlas."
Nathan: Done!
Antonio: Ew, damn it. Gross. Fine. What else?
BRTD: Laki's number two... "In lieu of a body, which was most likely blown up in the most awesome way imaginable, I would like the Hamon campaign poster to be burned and its ashes buried in an unmarked grave somewhere by the Lac du Bourget."
Antonio: Well that's crazy. I'm not gonna burn or bury the poster.
BRTD: We also both have to name our firstborn child Jeremy because that's Corbyn's first name.

Afrikaner nationalism is pretty deeply right wing as a rule, in the same way that Catalan or Scottish nationalism is generally left wing (except the right-wingedness of Afrikaner nationalism is much stronger than either of those). There are traditionally very strong Calvinist linkages and obviously it's deeply and firmly racist ideology. I'm not a South Africa expert, but it's my understanding that it was also the intellectual apparatus which justified Apartheid. Afrikaner nationalism no longer has any large-scale electoral appeal with the existence of actual democracy, but it remains firmly associated with right-wing racist ideology.

The ANC was very much in the tradition of other leftist movements for anticolonial struggle, and its trajectory post-1994 is pretty on brand for that too.

I honestly find it a bit surprising that you think this way, since South Africa is right up there with Palestine, Ireland, etc. as a left-wing cause celebre. This is a take I would expect from The Reckoning.

Well perhaps i probably wouldn't vote for that party anyways, but idk what i would vote for, because South Africa seems like a mess

Probbaly ANC after all because i'd support the case they would've started.
