Really disappointed that the PV is the other way around because McKinley winning the PV by 18 and only getting 39 EVs would be a Certified Bruh Moment.

95th PercentileTM Jimmy

Carter/Mondale: 427 EV (50.7%)
Ford/Dole: 111 EV (47.1%)

Increase the margin of victory by 1.5% and get this kind of Electoral College landslide! Would a uniform shift have caused this much of a change or am I just that good Wink

Really interesting how this is almost the exact inverse of a modern electoral map, aside from WV and some of the plains.

I played as Obama 2012 on easy and made him lose in a landslide on purpose. I stopped in Ohio every time to see how much more Democratic I could get the state compared to the national average. I was able to make Ohio almost exactly 2% more Democratic than the nation as a whole.

Romney 352
Obama 186

A noticeable bug is that Obama won NE-02 and Romney won ME-02 when looking at the state results. Probably an oversight.

I came within 0.3% of winning Connecticut of all states.

Dewey on Impossible, tried to be as crazy as possible, repeating several of Henry Wallace's talking points, while advocating for universal healthcare and internationalism except for the Marshall Plan in an attempt to lose the isolationist plains.

President Harry Truman/Senator Alben Barkley: 55.7%, 485 EV
Governor Strom Thurmond/Governor Fielding Wright: 2.3%, 38 EV
Governor Thomas Dewey/Senator John Bricker: 39.2%, 8 EV
Fmr. Vice President Henry Wallace/Senator Glen Taylor: 2.8%, 0 EV

Closest states (Under 3% difference):
KS: 406,822-401,760-12,932
ND: 102,543-100,833-8,678-555
NE:239,727-232,422

Speaking of 1948, is there a way you can mess up with Truman or Dewey SO MUCH that Thurmond actually gets more than 4 states?

Kennedy 50-state sweep:

Kennedy/Johnson: 61.9%, 531 EV
Unpledged: 0.0%, 6 EV
Nixon/Goldwater: 38.1%, 0 EV

Nixon/Goldwater on impossible, advocated for universal healthcare, civil rights, an apology to the soviets, and criticized Eisenhower at every opportunity.

Closest state was Nebraska, which was 50.8-49.2

I ran as Obama on Easy and picked random answers and only visited Texas.

https://americanhistoryusa.com/campaign-trail/game/1128264

I lost by a 321-217 margin. I only barely won MN and I lost NV, CO, IA, WI, OH, PA, NH, VA and FL from the actual 2012 election.

Don't ask me how I got this 2012 map.

https://americanhistoryusa.com/campaign-trail/game/1142433

I played as Obama on Easy trying to win NC while making an actual Obama 2012 state other than Florida vote Romney at the same time, I got more than I bargained for. Romney won the game as the House would've voted for him but had Romney gotten 700 more votes in PA he would've won outright.

Serious question here:

How can I create a map where Wallace wins his real life states, picks up south Carolina and has thurmond as vice. What answers should I give and how do I campaign with states

Additional states and any difficulty allowed to

Reversed Atlas colors to do it how the game (and everywhere else) does it.

Got this kinda strange but not really 315-223 Romney map playing as the Delecto himself.

I love playing 2012 as I find that one to be the most elastic and gives the wildest results from time to time.
