Hillary still does better than Dukakis

Hillary Clinton - 40 percent popular vote, 124 electoral votes

Donald Trump - 55 percent popular vote, 424 electoral votes

First off, has anybody won or thrown the election to the house as Wallace?

Second, on October, according to the site, all elections will be free for everybody to play regardless of if they had an account or not. That will make me addicted to the game all over again to try out different stuff

Proof

Why is it so relatively easy to win in a landslide with either candidate in 1988?

Because in reality, both candidates in real life had everything in their power to win in a landslide, it was just a matter of who could do it first

Im trying every election on every difficulty on every candidate to see how well I do on all levels putting in my best effort. First will be Clinton 2016 Easy

To be honest, I'm impressed Trump even does this well in this timeline. He still easily broke triple digits, and 'only' lost by 12 points

In my continuing of my every candidate every election every difficulty race, I did Clinton on Normal this time.

Trump wins the presidency by a 9 thousand vote victory in Wisconsin. Ironically despite only winning by 8 electoral votes here, he loses the popular vote by a smaller margin than in real life, when he won by almost 100 electoral votes

Inspired by the "Dixie Surprise" thread on this board. Edited the javascript and played as George Wallace (D) vs Richard Nixon (R) in 1968.  I did this by removing Humphrey under the candidates list and increasing the campaign difficult multiplier by 5. There's some good instructions on the Alt History thread for the same game for more instructions.

40% states were within a percent. Closest state was PA, which was decided by 2644 votes (0.06%)

George Wallace / Happy Chandler (Dem) - 319 electoral votes - 54.8% popular vote
Richard Nixon / Spiro Agnew (Rep) - 219 electoral votes - 45.2% popular vote

Can u provide a link, since I can't find the alt history thread of this

Speaking of 1948, is there a way you can mess up with Truman or Dewey SO MUCH that Thurmond actually gets more than 4 states?

Serious question here:

How can I create a map where Wallace wins his real life states, picks up south Carolina and has thurmond as vice. What answers should I give and how do I campaign with states

Additional states and any difficulty allowed to

Had to post, because it was a pretty rare outcome.  269-269 tie in 1976.  I played as Ford/Anderson.

Carter/Mondale - 269 EV; 41,106,921 (49.9%)
Ford/Anderson - 269 EV; 39,639,330 (48.1%)

Closest states were Maine (Ford +615), Virginia (Ford +4,913) and Wisconsin (Ford +7,811).  Closest Carter win was Oklahoma (Carter +7,728)

Just because its a rare outcome, I'll post the outcome blurb:

Quote
While the Electoral College ended in a tie, the Democrats have a huge advantage in the House of Representatives and are sure to elect your opponent in that manner. Perhaps you can still play a role in 1980, or seek your old Congressional leadership positions. In any case, you can still take solace in the fact that you did the right thing by pardoning Nixon and moving the country beyond the Watergate episode.

If anyone has the "no majority" blurbs for 2016, 2012, 2000, 1916 or 1896 (if possible) please share.  I'd be interested to know what they say.

I wonder what percent of 1976 games had that outcome

FYI, the creator of the game has just added an FAQ about his future plans for the Campaign Trail. To summarise, it is good news; he says new scenarios will be coming, in order of priority:

1. 2020 by September/October
2. 1980, 1992 and 2004 (Likely with a possible alternate history twist to make them more competitive, e.g. hostages released early, Perot never drops out)
3. 1800, 1836, 1856, 1876, 1884, 1892 and 1936 (if Huey Long ran)

I'm down with 80 ONLY if Anderson is playable

Hillary Clinton  211  28.5%
Donald Trump  197  35.7%
Gary Johnson  130  35.8%
By messing around with the game and spamming options that increase Libertarian Support, I managed to get a deadlocked EC in the new 2016 scenario playing as Hillary. The result said this: "No candidate secured a majority in the Electoral College. However, the Republicans won a majority in Congress and will elevate Trump to the Presidency. Time will tell how things go in that regard. As for you, a long and sometimes ambiguous political career seems to be coming to its end."

Lol third party winning popular vote

can you give a little tutorial on how to screw around with the game like this?
When you select an option in the game and confirm it if it has an advisor prompt you can use your keyboard to repeat the response as much as you want with space or enter and it will keep affecting the game. Then when you're satisfied you can hit tab and open the map with space or enter then continue as normal with the wacky world you've made. (This is like a month later lol why did I take so long to respond to this)

I tried that but it wouldn't let me continue the game after I hit it a few times. It's just locked in on the prompt after I hit enter a couple of times
